Think Cutler's contract not Kaepernick's for Newton

You guys are living in a fantasy world, atleast cams next deal will start will a 2. Just no way around it, he's going to get top five money. I wish cam is able to be brainwashed like tom brady was. "O tom in order for us to win superbowls and put a full roster of talent together, you must take 15 million per for the greater good". He ate that up, I don't believe cam&crew will be so kind....... even if its somewhat true. Brady sure was pissed about welkers deal, but he hasn't listened to the dozens&dozens of ex-pats complaining about money. Bill is gd wizard.

Agreed.

Just look at Cam in Junior College, Auburn and Carolina?

He respects authority and allows people to do their jobs. Therefore, I'm sure he'll allow his agent Bus Cook to do his job, unless things get highly acrimonious and he feels the need to step in.

Cam will get his money, even with Gettleman as the GM

It sounds like wishful thinking to me, Cam is going to get paid somewhere!

Given that his fifth year option was picked up and he could be franchise tagged three times if needed, for at least the next five years "somewhere" is here.

(but I seriously doubt those franchise tags will be necessary)

kaep's contract is all bells and whistles.  49ers could leave him out to dry in every season, save the first, and not be on the hook for much at all.  it's play for pay as well.  who is his agent and why did they agree to that?  don't tell me to get other players inked.  there are brady contracts and then there are dumb contracts.  kaep's is the latter.  he's no cam newton, but he could have done a lot better than that.

Well Cam is very marketable, he can make money by endorsements too. And lets not forget the clothing line. He may take a more team-friendly (within reason) deal so they can surround him with some talent. He will get paid near 20 mil we know for sure, but what side of it is the question.

I don't see any player with an effective agent giving up guaranteed money to be "team friendly".

Cam's next injury, in the world of the highly dangerous NFL, *could* be a career ender.

Then where does all that marketing money go?  Corporations rarely pay money for old-news to be the face(s) of their companies.

Cam was the first #1 overall pick to come into the league under the rookie salary cap.  You can make a safe bet that Cam and his agent will get the maximum value out of his next contract as they possibly can.  And nobody should blame him/them one little bit for doing so.

The thing about Brady is, he already got his max deal. Two of them. So it was easy for him to take a smaller deal this time around.

Cam is going to get paid. Whether it is a Klaperdink kind of deal, or a Cutler type. He is going to be the highest paid Panther in history.

Good point, didn't think about injury.

I wouldn't be upset either way, he is worth it. I don't think Kaep is tho. IMO
