Brandon Lafail running his mouth again

Ummm probably true. Rivera is a player's coach, and Bellicheck is a total dick. So I'm not surprised they work harder in NE. Doesn't necessarily make it the right approach. Also it's not 1 billion degrees up in MA.

Agreed. People seem to have forgotten that less than a year ago, almost everyone on this board wanted Rivera sh!tcanned.

If we get off to another slow start this year, we might wish Rivera was more of a dick. Don't get me wrong, it would be nice if we had a player's coach that got guys to produce, but it doesn't always work out that way. (see Norv)

I've said for a while that LaFell seemed complacent as all hell, and before we let him walk some people seemed like they took offense to that statement.  Forget all the drops, tipped interceptions, etc.  it was his complacency and lack of effort going for the ball that made me dislike him so much... he just seemed like he never really cared the whole time he was here.

Lol, judging by that tweet it seems I wasn't too far off.

He's probably not wrong. The amount of work put in the offseason could be a reason why the Pats are CONSTANTLY competing in the playoffs and we are lucky to make it once every 5 years.

Regarding "hard work" in the offseason...

Used to be that nobody worked his team harder than Tom Coughlin did the Giants.  And you saw the results...

...which were not always good

For a while there, Coughlin's Giants had a habit of dominating early, then fading in the latter half of the season.

Why?  Because they were tired.  Coughlin had been working them like dogs since May, and it wore on them.

Team leadership finally convinced Coughlin to ease up a little, and suddenly the team was winning Super Bowls.

It's easy to think that if you just go hard all day, every day, you'll be the best.  But a game like football takes a toll on your body, so if you overdo it too soon, you might not have much left come crunch time.

Gotta find the right balance...
