Steve Smith was going to retire after the 2014 season

The Ravens don't seem to think there is a leadership problem.

To be fair, Steve Smith himself was quoted as saying he is just a small piece on the Ravens, trying how to figure out how he fits in their world, instead of having everybody fit into his.

Of course the Ravens have no problem with him, because on the Ravens he's a 35 year old receiver just trying to do his part.

On the Panthers, he's Steve fuging Smith, greatest Panther of all time.

Obviously there will be a difference.

I just want the Ravens game to be over with.

I understand that he has to motivate himself and by proxy - his team for our upcoming game and their confidence in giving him a 3 year contract.  For the first time since he was a rookie,  he has no real job security.  He is basically trying to talk the talk and climb the ladder all over again,  even as a #3 WR.    Can't wait for him to retire a Panther.

While he was here,  I overlooked the beating up on teammates.  The only thing I didn't really like is the thing that is rarely discussed here because the other player sucked.    I remember in '10..  he was having little hissy fits on the field,  getting in Clausen's face in almost every game they played in together.   Basically acting like the biggest douche in the world.      That poo made us look worse than even the worst of Clausen did, imo.

I've seen Brady rant to his young Wrs,  I've seen Cutler rage against his Oline........  but never to the extent that 89 seemed to do against Clausen in '10.

If they thought he was bad in the locker room, just wait until he's bad on the field. I'm going to cringe when he baits Roman Harper into 3 personal foul penalties.

It's gonna be the other way around, Smith will get the penalties and cost his team.

I wonder if the refs will warn both teams that they will be watching what transpires and guys will get flagged or the boot if it gets outta hand.I am sure R.R will be reading the team the riot act before the game. Warning them not to get baited by Smith and his antics. I wish him the best but don't want him to abuse our guys and get away with it....fug that.

No they aren't ones either. They however act there part.

Issue is 89s drama and the nonsense he brings. The other 2s are just that.....dudes who will show up and act like 2s. 89 made it about 89, rubbed people wrong, and was an issue for a team that should be lead by Cam, Luke, etc

hey it's another old guy who 1) hates athletes with personalities and 2) barely writes a legible English sentence.

Steve Smith didn't make anything about Steve Smith; that was all your mind. Steve Smith plays a game for a living.

They are also a franchise with two Lombardi trophies and a GM that is in the HOF, and an owner who is in the Forbes Top 400.

Meanwhile, we can't put together back-to-back winning seasons in 20 seasons, have a douche GM that thinks he is a mobster, and an arrogant owner who likes to use pie charts and bully his way to the front of the line with his wealth for a heart transplant, all while bending the Charlotte taxpayer over at every opportunity, even though the fans built his stadium with PSL money.
