We took a big risk waiting to get a deal done with Cam. Looks even worse now.

I honestly don't think so. Cam was going to get paid ridiculous money regardless of what Kaep, Wilson, Luck, Bob Knee all sign for.

If our GM can keep rolling cap money over we should be fine. Plus you gotta remember we have like $18MM or so in dead money and awful contracts that will soon be off the books.

Looks like a lot of fluff to me.  6 years/$60M guaranteed is only $10M per year guaranteed.  Not a terrible deal for a young QB with a lot of upside.  He'll never collect anywhere near $126M out of this contract.

Guys, Cam isn't going to get anywhere near that. Kaep is on a stacked team but he still was part of 2 NFC title games and a SB. That gave him considerable negotation leverage.

Problem is the price is going nowhere but up, and Wilson, and Luck will be getting new contracts soon too.

Kaepernick had 20 or more completions twice in '13 (his only two games over 300 yards): Weeks 1 and 17. Gets the most guaranteed money ever.
