Predicting an 11 win season to a team that lost so much and brought in so little is laughable in my opinion. You can't lose your entire wr core, k/p returner near pro bowl saftey, and startering cb and see only a one game drop off as eveyone else in the division improved.

you sound like you've drank the media kool-aid

Yeah & I bet you said last year we would be division champs with the core we had. Mitchell excelled because of our front 7 same with the whole secondary that was pieced together. Ginn had his best yr with us & the core as a whole sucked.Chill guy its only June & we did get better everywhere other then OLine. Go grab a snickers & relax! Damn haven't played a game & whining already. Fans like you are the worst.

I long ago quit trying to predict W-L records prior to the season.  Games aren't played on paper and it's impossible to tell how a team will be considering every NFL team loses some players and brings in new players every off-season.  Then you also have the ever-present and unpredictable injury factor wild card as well.

Literally no one would have predicted that the Texans would completely implode and end up with the #1 overall pick.  They were predicted by most people to win their division.  And to be perfectly fair, almost no one would've predicted that our Panthers would go 12-4 and win our division.  I wouldn't have been that gutsy with my prediction.  This time last year I said I would've been more than happy to squeak out 10 wins.

I was under the impression that our stud front seven made our "near pro bowl safety" and slot cornerback look better than they were. I also addressed the WR core. The production will be matched, if not better. PR/KR aren't the hardest thing to find on the market. We may have found a gem in Philly

Couldn't agree more. Dude must be hitting that pipe to hard. All loco right now. More 2 TE's sets this year will help a lot. Oh & I expect more 3- 4 ran also.

Who knows how it'll all play out.  The Bucs D looks very stout, along with having trees for receivers on O.  The Saints O is going to explosive as long as Payton and Brees are still there, Sproles leaving isn't going to make it any worse.  Not to mention they have 2 up and coming pass rushers.  WRs look better on paper, but we'll see how well they end up clicking with Cam throughout the season.  The secondary looks no worse than last year, it being better remains to be seen.

At the very least we should be contending for a WC spot and pushing for division title with our defense and hopefully the offense can match.

The website where it comes from. They know their stuff. And I'm sure the title of this thread is pre-analysis not predictions. Let's try reading and not making up whatever you feel like just to be a douche.

I read the whole thing and it breaks down team by team strengths and weaknesses; however, I didnt see where there were any predictions in it, which I is what I was asking you in a completely non confrontational way.

Why would you just post a random article and go "this right here ya'll, this right here!". I mean, dude, have a point other than just referencing someone else's poo. Yeah yeah you dont wanto quote the whole article, apparently you dont want to quote any of it. How bout like maybe 3 words to give us a hint, lol.

I wouldnt be so quick to assume you know where someone is coming from there, XT1080.

I'm rolling with history here and proclaim we'll be a Wildcard team this season. Tampa or New Orleans will win the division this season.

Unfortunately, if you're rolling with history here, we're in for a losing season.  We've still never had back to back winning seasons.

    • Strange, every news article and tweet I just searched all mentioned waivers. It is definitely his sixth year of at least 6 games. All I was trying to think of earlier was at the vet min could he beat out Bryce in camp next year lol. He's kinda got the old Darnold issue where he can obviously launch deep balls and qb run at a level Bryce will never achieve, but it sounds like he would be content being like a Josh Allen backup who doesn't throw the whole game plan out the window if he has to come in for a series or two. If we had him and for some reason still wanted to start Bryce he would kinda do what Justin Fields was doing the other night with Dangeruss, coming in for designed runs and maybe some play action/triple option rpo things to go deep. That would be so obvious and sad though. At least Russ can still sling it 40 yards in the air with a flick of the wrist
    • Too late to edit above but the quote is from this Diane Russini article in the Athletic: https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5941684/2024/11/23/russinis-what-im-hearing-the-day-the-jets-fell-apart-and-the-broncos-rallied-belichick-best-fits/ Okay.. there you have sorry I left that out the first post.  Also waivers keep the contract intact. That is the major difference in released and waived. It's all in that link from the other post.
    • Okay so I am reading something in The Athletic and it says that Jones had to pass through waivers. So I don't know. I looked this stuff up when we were number one there all offseason and I thought it said 4 years in the league got you vested, as they call it.  Vested gets you out of waivers as I understood it. I probably got something wrong, but when I think about the slack quality of journalism these days I wonder about that. So I went and looked, again. Well, well.  For everyone: "When a player has accrued at least four seasons in the NFL, they are considered a vested veteran. When these vested veterans get cut, they are released and their contract is terminated. When a vested veteran is released, they are an unrestricted free agent that can sign with any NFL team, and the team that released them doesn’t need to provide any additional compensation." It runs it all down here, where the quotes came from: https://www.profootballnetwork.com/waived-vs-released-nfl/ As far as Jones, the team turned down his 5th year option so I knew that meant he had 4 years in, because they re-signed him anyway, after turning down the much cheaper extra year.  The Athletic is owned by the New York Times so I shouldn't be surprised. That paper was an institution once upon a time but they let their standards go.
