Third round picks have zero leverage.   They cannot go back to college and they will fall right off the board.  They might end up a 6th or 7th rounder but then their contract is going to be lower than before.   

 

Before the CBA those guys had some leverage.  Now they don't.

Trai Turner is not holding out.  As of yesterday ZERO of the Rams/Broncos draft picks have signed, *****ZERO******. There is no way anyone is holding out under the new CBA, all contracts are a matter of time.

Google says that the only negotiating point is signing bonuses. However it appears that signing bonuses are "slotted" somehow. If you run down the list I posted earlier each draftees signing bonus is slightly less than the one before.

IN the era of the rookie salary cap, its hard to see anyone holding out. They have a set price for draft pics (Max) thats these kids are going to get paid. Deal with it, move on and prove to the team your worth more when the next contract comes up.

Exactly. I really doubt he is" holding out". Simple extrapolation will tell you where his contract and subsequent guaranteed money will be. I suspect, that if this isn't totally fictitious, there may be some language in question by the agent and they are seeking clarification.
