The entire back line was atrocious. Thought Altidore played a bit better, especially in the first half. Still not good enough though. Lot of work still to do.

I was pleasantly surprised with some of our passing. We did some positive things. However that back line is a disaster. They don't know how to play together they don't know how to play at that level.  Germany, Ghana, and Portugal will score on those breakdowns. They will also break us down more frequently with better athletes and technical ability.

 

I will say I left watching that game feeling better about our chances but I still consider us a very long shot. To me a successful World Cup is to play meaningful Soccer in our third fixture. Dempsey has to work miracles. Jermaine Jones needs to stay on the pitch.

 

I was satisfied with Julian Green too. He's clearly raw but he has technical knowledge and athleticism very few Americans ever get. He's just not polished with his touches and finishing.
