Apparently Wenger is brazil trying to sign players.

Looks like LB Serge Aurier is a done deal. Wenger is meeting Balotelli agent tomorrow to hammer out a deal.

Apparently Wenger also had a chat with Alexis Sanchez agent but no details available.

Aurier, Balotelli and Sanchez for £55m would be sick.

Lizarazu and Wenger are advisors for a TV channel, but he is certainly working for Arsenal too ^^

Baldini's been there for weeks now, setting up interviews, watching practices, etc. Hopefully, it gets some decent insight into lesser known players. I don't want us to go out and spend a crapload of money again this year. It obviously didn't help us at all this past season, and I don't think it would be good for the team.

Liverpool might have to sale Suarez to finance renovations that schedule to start in 8 months. Renovation costs estimated at around £100m.

Liverpool is planning on paying cash.

Not sure the exact payment schedule, but £20m has already been paid and the balance is due by the start of the 2016/17 campaign. We won't need to sell Suarez to fund the renovations, but we may be cash strapped during next summer's window.

As long as both Real Madrid and Barcelona are interested, I'm ok with it. They'll drive up the value trying to make sure the other club doesn't land him.

Not really... who ever triggers release clause first, wins.  Liverpool will have no control if release clause is triggered.  If Barca triggers it first and Real comesback with higher offer, Real and Liverpool are poo out of luck because Barca triggered first.

Not exactly. His release clause is a "good faith" release clause, meaning that the offer triggers good faith discussions. If Barca triggers his release clause, then we have to enter into good faith negotiations on the move, so long as Suarez is keen. But if Real Madrid come back the next day with a higher offer before a deal is struck, we can sell to Madrid.

There is almost no such thing as an instantaneous release clause in world football. Payment scheduling conflicts, player negotiations, and other contractual obligations prevent that from being possible. The only thing Suarez release clause says is that he has a point where we HAVE to sell if he wants it.

Then we will get into a battle of who will pay more for Suarez. He has a good chance at many trophies at either club, so they may also get into a wage war for his signature.

It's not a good faith discussion...  lol.  Once you trigger release clause, you can negotiate with a player on a contract.  Liverpool have no say because release clause was triggered and Liverpool obligated to release player to join bidding team.

What's gonna happen is both teams will pay minimum release clause for Suarez to Liverpool and then battle will start. Only the battle will be for Suarez wages between 2 bidding teams and Suarez.  Liverpool have no say.

Bale did not have release clause last year so Real had to pay up.  Arsenal tho Suarez had a release clause but they way it was written it was hard to interpret.  Suarez signed a new deal with Liverpool last year and he made sure there was a release clause in place this time around.

Release clause prevents player from being hostage.  Again, Liverpool has no say after minimum release clause is met.

The only way we have to accept an offer is if Suarez demands a move. It's written in his contract. If Suarez demands a move to Barca, then you're right, we have to let him walk. However, if he does not demand a move, we accept the highest bidder, regardless of which club faxed their offer in first.

Oh he will demand a move. That's the only reason he inked a new deal with clear cut release clause. His wife's family lives outside Barcelona which is another major factor.

He'll demand a move to one. I'm just less sure about the Barca link than others. I don't think they'll pony up to the release clause. I think Madrid will offer more to Liverpool and Suarez.

    • Hope Koch recovers (he’s stated numerous times he doesn’t like to be called “koochie”) soon. But he does not instill confidence in the crease. I don’t have any confidence in any of our goalies, healthy or not. Andersen when available gives us the best chance to win but he’s never available.    Team has to explore trade options soon.
    • Respectfully, I completely disagree. Last year we were:  32nd in Sacks. 32nd in Turnovers.  32nd in Rushing TDs allowed  29th in Scoring.  We were absolutely atrocious on defense last year and that was with a full stable of weapons in Derek Brown, Frankie Luvu and Brian Burns that played all 17 games.  Using yards per game as a metric to guage our success lacks the context that because our offense was so inept teams were not driving the length of the field, they were starting at their 40-50 yard line.  This year, our Defense ranks:  31st in Sacks. Tied for 19th in Turnovers  31st in Rushing TDs allowed 32nd in Scoring  His defense fails to get pressure, fails to turn the ball over and fails to stop the run. Three things you absolutely have to do to be successful in the NFL.  Denver meanwhile has not missed a beat without him.  If another team wants to hire him as a HC and the Panthers get two 3rds for it I'll wish him the best and pack his bags myself.
