2014 Summer Transfer Window: Rumors, Completed Deals, Pipedreams!

Personally I think buying James is more about preparing for Ronaldo's departure then it is about replacing Isco, Modric etc. Either way I agree with the move, his potential is tremendous, and he's a guy who has done everything possible to get to Madrid this Summer. Add in his versatility and marketability, and I'm a fan of the move. Sad that Di Maria will be somewhere else (lets face it, no way they keep ADM if they bring in James despite what the rumors about ADM are), but I think James will fill some of the void just fine. Couple that with Kroos' play making, and Bale taking another step up as he gets even more comfortable in Spain......RM will be just fine.

I think one of the more interesting questions remaining is what happens at CB. Ramos isn't going anywhere obviously, but Varane will have to be a regular starter this year if RM wants to keep him. Where does that leave Pepe? Will he accept a bench role with spot starts here and there? That's a lot to ask of a guy who's still got a good bit of ability left. Will he head to the Premier League with RM bringing in another Centre Back? I think how that shakes out will be really interesting.

BTW rumors that Isco will be loaned to Sevilla, but they seem to be BS. Likely will be a key rotational guy, who gets plenty of starts to spell Modric and James throughout the year.

Loan him (or sell) to us. We promise to charge you reasonably (not really) when you want him back!

How do you feel about this signing? I'm not too familiar with him.

I love it.  He's a starting RB for France national team, Sagna is his back-up.  He's faster than Sagna and better crosser (Sagna sucked at crossing).  He's more of an attacking RB... similar to Dani Alves from Barcelona.  He's not as physical as Sagna.

Sagna got burned a lot last year... all those goals Liverpool and City scored happened because their wingers were able to get past Sagna and Mertesaker.  This is not gonna be the case this year.  Debuchy is very fast and has a great recovery speed.

That's good to hear. Definitely need speed beside Mertesaker.

Yep, that was a huge issue last year.  Arsenal lacked speed all around.  With addition of Alexis and Debuchy, Arsenal will have many pacy players.  Arsenal still looking to sign DM and ST.  DM is up in the air.... it will either be Khedira or Schneiderlin.
