They want to unload Morata but you assume they're cornered somehow when they'll gladly just keep him or send him somewhere else. So Real is in the driver seat here. If they weren't, Morata would've already boarded a plane to Italy. Juve has to pay the fee AND accept the buy-back clause. Point out where the hardball is being played here. It's either their way or the highway. If they weren't interested in him, then they would've moved on already. The fact is Juve remains hotly linked to Morata, especially now that Arsenal has upped them in the Sanchez sweepstakes.

The SB Nation page and several Italian news sites are reporting it. Vidal or Pogba leaving this summer is greater than 5%. I can assure you of that. Why? Because of lack of funds to keep the in-house talent AND sign a big name or several free agents this summer. That is the direct the reason why Juve fans are running around like chickens with their heads cut off as we speak.

I'm not arguing a buy back clause. If Juve buy him, that's almost a guarantee. My point was they don't want to spend 20M for him and they are in a great spot and won't be pressured by RM. They made a bid for Iturbe and Morata. Morata is cheaper so they'll stay on him.

Again do you have a link for this "lack of funds"?

I read article just last night about Juve financial position and it's not that great.

Link?

Juventus closed Alvaro Morata signing for €20M + €2M as variables with a but-back option for Real Madrid.

Like I said earlier, Real was in the driver seat the entire time.

Di Marzio hasn't reported this so I doubt that is true. His last update was negotiations still ongoing.

Having watched Sanchez since his Udinese days, I think he's best as a 2nd striker or a LW/RW. Not really sure you want him leading the line. His speed and touch is best when he has room and likes going deeper. Won't really make the runs in behind that you want from a point man.

That said he's a top guy and would be a great signing. Probably have a Hazard type effect in terms of goals and assists(not style )

He certainly has the strength, engine and pace to adapt to the epl.

Here's a Juve financial report.

http://investing.businessweek.com/research/stocks/financials/financials.asp?ticker=JUVE:IM

Their operarting expenses actually exceed their revenues.  Juve operating in near capacity mode.  They have to sale players to buy players unless they want to incure debt.  They also cannot afford to give out big salaries.

http://investing.businessweek.com/research/stocks/charts/charts.asp?ticker=JUVE:IM

Their stock price per share actually not doing so great and on it's way down.  Right now, Juve cannot afford anyone unless they unload some players otherwise they have to incure debt.

Arsenal had Giroud as a main striker last season...  Let it sink in.  Arsenal style of playing is identical to Barcelona.  Lot's of passing, ball control football.  Sanchez thrived in Barcelona system and I don't see why this will change.

That was of June 2013. We are in 2014. And Juve made a killing in UCL and with sponsorship deals and winning Serie A again. Not saying they are going to go out spending a ton(again wages is the problem not the fee), but the notion they HAVE to sell is a myth.

Even if Arsenal love to pass it around(too) much, they always liked to play with a point striker who can stretch the defense with in behind runs etc. RVP, Henry when played in that role did that.

Sanchez didn't play as CF because that where Messi was. He played as a SS or RW. (Unless Messi was injured)

IMO, he'll play out wide with Cazorla/Walcott and Ozil in the middle. With Remy up top and Ramsey and Wilshere as "holding" mids.

I think Wenger waiting for Kroos to be signed so he can make a move for Sami Khedira. Khedira have 1 year left on his contract and it looks like he'll be a back up this year if he does not move. I think Wenger can get him for £20m.

Reports now came out that Wenger will play Sanchez as RW. Giroud will still play ST and Remy will be his back up.

Yeah, RW makes most sense.

Not sure about Giroud tho... and what about Campbell?

Looks like Campbell is going back on loan.  They looking to sign another striker, extremely likely it will be Loic Remy. Remy was watching the last game of the season in Arsenal box and he also got a FA cup seats in Arsenal box.  He told Swansea he wants to join Arsenal and Arsenal told Swansea they are interested in him.  If you connect the dots, it looks like he bound to join Arsenal.

Well, Morata is gonna be taking his physical/medical this week and that'll be it.

We freaking ripped them off. Alvaro ain't worth +20m at all. You can make the case that Juve could've gotten him for less than 8m.

It looks like it might actually be 18m Euros plus add-ons, payable over 4 years. Considering RM set the buy-back at 31m Euros, I doubt it's quite the rip off you're making it out to be. He's 21 and has a ton of potential. In fact, I think it's a great signing for Juve's future. Next to no financial hit for them unless he blows up and produces big numbers.

Not according to both sides. Real fans are laughing their asses off and Juve fans are cursing the club for making such a desperate move. Reference Twitter, SB Nation.

And it is a ripoff. Morata has potential but the kid lacks a ton of self-confidence and consistency. In addition, his upside isn't on par with Jese's. Anything above 7m for was not a logical decision.

Whatever you say. £4-6m up front cost to sign a guy with potential can not ever be a bad deal, and is in absolutely no way a 'desperate move' for them. You will find deals like that nowhere else. Considering Madrid accepted his buy-back number 10m higher than Juve's price, they obviously know he has potential.

lol @ '80% of Juve fans'. Based on what? Twitter and SB Nation?

The Morata deal is a loan which Juve can make money on in 2016. If he explodes, they just got paid. If he doesn't explode, RM won't take him back and he's still only 23. It is a very low-risk signing. The dude clearly has little to no idea what he's talking about, and likely wants Juve to only purchase world-class, proven players.

Then he talks about bringing in a loan player just to sit the bench? Who the hell does that? Loans are to increase playing time, not increase bench time. Seriously?
