2014 Summer Transfer Window: Rumors, Completed Deals, Pipedreams!

Gawd I hate our summer transfer windows...so flipping boring. Tied to every rumor out there, never do anything but throw fluff into the hot air.

This sucks.

I don't think Spurs will do much.  Lack of Champion League and last summer shopping spree pretty much did it.

Multiple reports that RM will send Di Maria to Juve and Juve will send Pogba to RM. Clear player swap.

Earlier today Juve newspaper reported that Juve is out of the race for Sanchez because they cannot match Arsenal €41m bid.

That's the thing... Juve cannot afford to pay £20m yet some reports say they matched Arsenal £32m transfer fee for Sanchez.

They can afford that, they just don't think he's worth 20M euros and they have other targets. Plus Morata only wants Juve and they can play hard ball with Real too.(for now)

They also can afford Sanchez but the reason they won't spend is because his wages will break their wage scale which they don't want too because Tevez is already outside their wage barrier.

Less than 5% chance Pogba or Vidal leaves.

Juve's targets at the start of the mercato were Morata, Iturbe or Sanchez. My guess is they get Morata.

Juventus playing hardball with Real is not going to get them Morata simply because they don't need Vidal or Pogba this summer. Madrid can comfortably walk away from dealing anyone here. Pogba or Vidal are a luxury at this point if the rumors are true about Kroos and James. Real remain persistent with the buy-back clause and fee. That isn't going to change. In addition, according to several rumors, Juve doesn't have the funds to keep both Vidal and Pogba satisfied in the long run and add a key addition from the market. Someone is indeed going to get dealt.

Well RM want too offload Morata, while Juve want him but don't need him and can look elsewhere. Juve know they can wait since it's really early. The longer it drags on the better for them. They can easily move on to another player as well.

Funds to keep Pogba and Vidal? lol Where is this coming from? Juve are in great financial shape, Plus Pogba wages aren't huge at all. They can easily sell Vidal when he's 29-30 and then give Pogba a huge wage increase.

If they sell Pogba it's because they want too(or if Pogba asks to leave) but not because they need the money.

I read article just last night about Juve financial position and it's not that great.

I'm not sure where this notion that Juve has no money came from. As far as I know, they are the only Serie A club that owns their stadium outright. They are also the most profitable club in Italy, surpassing AC Milan last year. They don't carry a ton of debt right now.

There is a difference in not being able to spend, and not wanting/needing to spend. They have won the league for 3 straight seasons, so they aren't in any real need to sign players. And if Juve sell Vidal or Pogba, it's not because they need the money, it's because they got a really, really good offer.

Finally Sky Sports have spoken...

More now on the news that Arsenal could spend around £40million this week on the capture of Barcelona winger Alexis Sanchez and Newcastle right-back Mathieu Debuchy, according to Sky sources. Sanchez had been linked with a move to Liverpool but Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger looks set to add the highly-rated Barca man to his striking options. Full-back Debuchy, meanwhile, is set to join the club for around £10m in the next 48 hours as Wenger fills the void left by the departure of Bacary Sagna to Manchester City.

Btw Ken, you said no way Arsenal would spend 25m pounds on a player.  How do you like them apples?  And Arsenal still in the market for starting defensive midfielder and maybe another forward if Joel Campbell goes on loan again.

Arsenal paid off £600m loan in 6 years.  Now, Arsenal has extra £100m in transfer fees every season.  Club is 100% debt free.
