Huddle question:June cuts are days away...what will happen

For the most part, everyone who is a June first cut has already been cut, with the June 1st designation. 

 

Most of the action will come after the first preseason game with the roster trimming, where you get back ups not starters.

Not much of anything. June cuts have not been much of an issue in a while. Contracts are written to avoid the situation that once mad them significant and being able to designate June 1st cuts in advance lessened them even more.

Joe Thomas, Calvin Johnson and Richard Sherman will be cut and we will sign them for vet minimum, afterwards Gettleman will board his space ship and fly back home to his home planet Hog Mollie to the capital Blue Goose where he'll eat a healthy dinner that doesn't involve clam chowder.

June 1st is an annual exercise in a lot of speculation usually followed by a whole lotta nothing.

 

Unless a team has more than two players they wanted to cut on 1 June this date will come and go with very little action.  They could get rid of it and not really know it came and went.

Given Gett's comment this morning about why we did not sign a vet OT (no cap space) and the way they have been talking up Bell/Chandler....I am not sure we will add one yet.

The only players that would give us any reasonable cap relief in 2014 by cutting them are Olsen, Tolbert, Bell, and Edwards (and Cole and Blackburn to a lesser extent).
