Free Agency Targets: Arron Afflalo or Pau Gasol

Recommended Posts

I love Pau Gasol... When it was 2004-2010. . He is now a broke down, rarely healthy guy with sometimes questionable motivation.

What we should realize is AL Jefferson is a free Agent after next season.. Which all this talk of biggest free agent bargin may come back to bite.

Affalo has a lotta skill and ability to let us draft yet another project(lol noooo!) to develop behind him for a couple of years. I like him and makes choosing someone outside of Shooting guard and Small forward tolerable although we need more shooting.

I wont trade 9 for Affalo when we could sign Stephenson, Hayward, or Monroe without trading. I like him as a player but my offer would be Hendo and 24 and nothing more.

Like Pau game but dont like the fit here. Rather look for a younger option to fit into core for next 5-7 yrs.

Both would be perfect actually. Pau has enough gas in the tank for about two years so we should give him such a deal. Pau would also be very beneficial for Cody zeller.

I don't want to give up the number 9 pick. We have to find a future superstar somehow with that l pick. There always a overlooked player in the lottery that becomes more than expected aka Damian lillard. But afflao would definitely give kemba more space to operate and might take him to the next level with the added space. Pau would also spread the floor cause he can confidently hit the mid range.

Mkg would also benefit by being able to focus on what he does best. Elite defense, slashing, and cleaning up around the rim, and transition basketball.

I definitely would be happy to see this roster for the next 2~3 years while our younger players continue to develop and hopefully take over this roles

It all depends if they really want something at 9 and how much they want to lose Nelson's contract.

Your initial trade was ridiculous (as already pointed out), and Nelson's 8 million cap hit becomes expiring and potentially extremely valuable this year as a trade chip for them (he's also only guaranteed 2 million according to Rotoworld). Doubtful they're active in free agency, as they're looking at having tons of space after next season.

Basically, they'd be trading up 3 spots to 9, by giving away Afflalo (a stud), an 8 million dollar expiring deal, and taking back Hendo's bad-ish contract to be on the books a year longer than Nelson is. Not happening, in any way.

I don't care how ridiculous you think it is.

If a player drops like one of the PF and they take Exum at 4. They would have a log jam at the 2 spot and 2 young players they want to get playing time.

Hendo would be a nice fit for them off the bench for a better price then they are paying Affalo.

Like I said it all depends if they really like a player at 9.
