North/South Carolina beach recommendation

Any recommendation for family friendly place, laid back and with good restaurants?

Drive a little further south into GA and go to St. Simons Island.

Ocean Isle Beach is a good place. I was just there over the weekend. We go every Memorial Day Weekend. Pretty beach. Friendly. There is a really good restuarant I like called Sharkeys. Give it a try. I believe it is about 45 miles from Wilmington. I never had any nonsense there. Just abunch of families and young people having a good time.

Kiawah

Laid back plus you can drop into Charleston for a nice dinner

Hilton Head.  Family friendly, but not too family friendly if you know what I mean.  Lots of good dining.

Outer Banks.  Jockey's Ridge...museums...Lost Colony.  Great restaurants and doesn't take you an hour to drive 1-2 miles (bus 17 in Myrtle Beach).  But any NC beach (not Carolina/Wrightsville/ or areas around piers) are not very crowded and pretty laid back.

Ocean Isle Beach is by far the best of the Brunswick Co. beaches.

Just got back from 4 days at Folly Beach outside of Charleston. I love that place.
