Both,he drops passes in every game.that is the real deal. it is not deniable. The scouting reports no matter who you read all say he drops too many pases so saying nobody worries about it is just wrong. It is a concern to those who honestly look at the situation.  since it is undeniable now you just want to play it off. The original point was if dropping 6 passes in a season is a concern why is it not one when he drops 3+ in games?

You and a few other people seem to be the only ones worried.

Regarding the scouting report: No one's perfect. You gotta have something to work on, especially when not drafted in the top 10. And even those guys usually have something to work on, as the scouts are usually wrong and miss stuff.

Has he dropped passes; yes. Is it a problem (especially the way you're making it); no!!! Are KB/FSU, most Panther fans worried; no! Not a big deal. He tried to run before he caught the ball. It had nothing to do with outright, plainly dropping balls. That can be worked. But for all the big and difficult catches he made,  you're grossly overreacting. All players need things to be worked on.

you said no one was worried  so... as for the scouting reports you are saying they are wrong , that he does not drop alot of passes? Yes he drops passes outright , again undeniable.Yes it is a problem and it is not me making it so. I am not over- reacting I am just saying he drops passes, you seem to be in the overreaction camp.yes all players have things to work on and dropping passes is his thing that is fact not a gross overreaction.that still doesn't answer the original question.

I'm sure he dropped passes every game.

But I digress.

Question! What's better 6 drops in a season and only 5 TDs All Season

Or 3 drops in a game but making that up with 3 TDs the same game.

Now to say the drops aren't a problem is dumb. They are a problem. And I'm sure it'll frustrate us sometimes.

But it's also a very coachable problem. A lot of his drops weren't from contested catches or anything like that, it was from turning before catching. A simple, coachable fix.

Also lol if you think the only reason LaFell sucked is because he dropped passes.

Yes, you're overreacting (especially so early before the season starts).

See the post before mine (forgot his name, but there's an animal in his/her avatar).

It's been nice talking to you. But let it go (or by golly, hold on till next season starts). Lol

well if he does that then things will be fine.

As far as drops I would say contested drops are more acceptable than outright drops.LOL if you think I said that about Lafell. LaFell is not the point, the amount of drops is the point. the way one is judged is the point, but at least you give good points and not ridiculous spin and excuses.

    • Man that was awful.  Completely killed my NBA fandom in a way that will never recover. I loved that Hornets team.  The Bobcats were the worst possible replacement.
    • OK, so this is a bit weird.  When I coached at Salisbury High School when I first started teaching, I used to go over to Catawba College to watch film and talk football with their coaches.  They were great. Curtis, Jalon's father, I assume, was a LB at Catawba and hired as LB coach by Bennett When Coastal started their program, they hired Catawba's coach Bennett.  Bennett must have taken Jalen's father with him to Coastal. I am guessing that is about the time Jalon was born and why he was in Conway. So then his father comes back to Salisbury after Jalen is born and takes the head coaching job. Jalen is a good interview.  I love the kid based on this, and I have heard good things from former colleagues of FB.  Salibury (when I was there) was a very rough school.  Gangs, drugs, etc.  To put it in perspective, I was there for 2.5 years and I had four (4) students in my class (at different times) who committed murder during that time. A girl was raped in the gym by a few boys.  One night, after a game (there is a road between the coaches offices in the gym and the rest of the school) the coaches watched film until 1 AM or so.  When we were leaving to walk to our cars parked across that street, we noticed a car sitting in the middle of the road about 100 yards away with its lights off.  The driver took off when we neared the street, so we all hit the ground.  As the car passed, we heard about 6 or 7 gunshots.  The next day, the van behind where we fell to the ground had 2 bullet holes in it, about 5 feet above the ground.  All that to say this:  If the young man on the video endured anything like that, I want him to succeed and I found it interesting that he mentioned playing for the Panthers.  I am not sold on the player as a fit here based on our needs, but I am sold on the person.  Very proud of him for some reason that many may not understand.
    • First off, he's not even eligible for a contract yet.  You have to play three years. And thank goodness! All we saw last year were glimpses.  Yes, those glimpses were enough that I think every fan wants to see him come back next year.  But bottom line is that so far, with only a couple games worth of exceptions, he hasn't yet shown that he's a FRANCHISE QB.  He hasn't shown the consistent ability to elevate the players around him. He could be the guy.  After week two of this year, just saying that much is a massive, massive positive swing.  But let's see him put it together for 17 games.  Let's see him make the people around him BETTER.  Then we can talk about extending him. Let's not lose sight of the fact that thus far in his career, in no season has BY exceeded the rookie stats of MAC JONES. We should  be excited for the possibility, but we certainly haven't seen yet what we need to see to declare we have our guy.
