Sammy will be pretty good in the league for a while. I wonder (jk I know) if we had drafted Sammy would we be doing a  We got the best wr in the Draft!!! or Sammy > Kelvin thread.

 

Now I do think Kelvin has a higher ceiling and will be really good for us and that's all that will matter.

I think of all the draft picks. This guy has the highest chance of adapting to Cam's heat. He's very big and very coordinated man. Im not worried about his catching, Im worried about him getting off the line and shaking off physical DB's.

Can we get Kelvin Benjamin to bring the nasty on every play?  If we can, then we hit it big.  This guy, properly motivated, is a monster.

 

The Cotchery/Avant signings seem well conceived when you look at Benjamin and the kind of veteran leadership that will help him along.

Watkins is more NFL ready than KB but the ceiling is much greater than KB. In 3 years KB may pass him. Watkins has much better hands and better routes at this point however, KB is raw and with a little experience can be scary good.

For the people that say all that Watkins does is catch screen passes you need to watch his career at Clemson. They threw him screen passes because that is what the defenses gave him. He caught a bunch of deep passes his first two years so they played him differently last year so they changed their game plan. That not withstanding very happy with the KB pick.

The difference being that the majority of Lafell's drop's were in crucial situations and 3rd downs;  Lafell did his part to lose us at least one game this season (Arizona).  You don't realize how much the momentum of a game can  change due to drive stalling out.

 

On the other hand, KB dropped balls when Florida State was already blowing someone out, and caught everything when it mattered.
