Watchdogs....

No developer is going to pay to license the rights for every single building, street sign, landmark etc in a game. That takes away money and development time from what actually matters. The game play. Much like GTA it's a slightly better than generic city layout that vaguely resembles Chicago without being close enough that Ubisoft won't be receiving lawsuits.

I never said I was disappointed that the buildings, building names, or street signs weren't exact. I was referring to the streets. The layout of chicago. Also I said I only played for an hour or so. After being able to play a bit more, I will say downtown is pretty good. Specially around what should be michigan ave. The stadium you start in is supposedly wrigley. But it's location is west of the loop, when in actuality it's north. Everything outside the chicago river has no resemblance of chicago at all.

Fact: most people who buy this game are not from Chicago, haven't been to Chicago, won't go to Chicago, and therefore have no way of knowing it's not Chicago to give a fug.

Besides, everything in Illinois outside of Chicago is corn fields anyway (based on a ride-through during a bus trip from MO to NC).

I played it at a friend's house a while back and I was kind of disappointed in it to be honest.  I just thought it would be... better.

I got hyped from the trailer they showed at E3 a couple of years back, and like most games nowadays apparently, it is no where near as polished and ground-breaking as the first draft version they show off at E3.

I'm tired of devs showing off games so early anyways.  They always show up a beefed up misrepresentation of what they "want" the game to be.  Then you have to wait 2-3 years just for it to get delayed for another year or 2.

Then it comes out and you're like, "Oh.  I am disappoint".

It's hard to be amazed by games anymore.  We're at the point where you aren't going to pick up that Metal Gear Solid on ps1, or CoD4, and be amazed.  Good news is there are more solid games now and lots of choices, but nothing is truly revolutionary.  I'm really excited for The Division but I'm trying to curb expectations.  I'll be getting Watch Dogs when it goes on sale though, sub $20 probably on PC.
