Report: Cleveland Cavaliers do not want to offer Kyrie Irving max contact

Recommended Posts

The Cavs are making noises that they aren’t going to offer Kyrie Irving “max money’’ this summer via a long-term extension. They don’t want to deal the 2014 All-Star Game MVP, but it could come to that, especially if the West Orange product and his family continue to tell people that he wants out. Irving hasn’t been a leader in his first three seasons and he’s also gained the unwelcomed reputation as a locker-room problem. Those are two reasons the Cavs don’t see him as a max player.

“He was just handed too much, too soon,’’ said one source. “You’ve got to make these young guys earn it, and that’s where this team did a bad job with him.’’

WOW that's crazy. Guess we have a super edge over Kemba now. The trade for Kyrie movement. We need to act on it

The Heat are gonna go on a spending spree this off-season. They're gonna sign a big name to help LeBron during the regular season with Wade missing 25-30 games and Irving might just be it.

How are they? If Wade stays they have no money and are even more limited in Contracts then ever before.

Just James, Wade and Bosh alone puts them over the salary cap for next season. Bosh has already said he's not opting out, same with James.

What is Wade going to opt out and take a 18 million dollar pay cut to return??? Lol, that's literally the only way they can go on a shopping spree.

The last CBA is set up and designed to stop teams from amassing talent and being able to fill out a roster.

How is it crazy? He's over rated as hell, he's a bad team mate by all accounts as well in the locker room and he doesn't make players around him better on the floor..

Bron didn't say he wasn't opting out?

No Bosh said it. Let's consider the fact that he does opt out but Wade and Bosh stay. The Heat still have 49 million committed in salary for 14/15 season and would have roughly 13 million to sign a player and then the MLE to work with and vet mins to fill out the rest of the roster.

How? Simple. Guys like Chalmers, Haslem and Anthony won't be re-signed or will be cut. Trust me, there's gonna be a change in Miami this off-season even if we three-peat. Pat Riley has already addressed it. There will be paycuts, restructures and roster cuts for the future. Thus, there will be a big-name signing and possibly a big-name leaving. Knowing how tactical and devious Pat can be, do also expect paycuts from our Big Three.

They would have to take a pay cut, cutting wouldn't work. They would still have to pay the salary and it would still count on the books.

Just the players already on books they are over the cap at roughly 70 million.

The Heat also can't stop James, Wade, Bosh or Haslam from coming back at all either. Just those 4 players count over 64 million. Not to mention that the lux tax penalty would 4.25 for ever dollar if they went over it again.

If the Heat win it all I think Ray retires.
