He needs to at least be in the rotation this year.

I think the huddler that wrote that comment may expect more because he held one of the 53 roster spots lat year. That was an accomplishment in itself based on where he came from. I am more inclined to see it from your perspective. What is the probability of us finding the next tight end star as a UDFA? I get the fact that he had a scholarship to Oregon and had the knee issues. At the same time I stay optimistic and hope for that lighting in a bottle...lol

They say he worked his butt off in training camp last year. I am hopeful his work ethic carried over throughout the year when the cameras stopped following him so closely. We will find out soon enough in training camp.

 

Keeping him on the 53 man roster also says that he was too good to place on the practice squad where he would be scooped up by a tight end hungry franchise.

 

I hope B. Williams makes that jump.  Olsen and Williams I think would give us the best options if we went two TE sets.
