Cain's on 53 in White Oak outside of Elizabethtown might just have the state's best burger. That'd probably be my vote.

Buns in Chapel Hill and Melvin's in Elizabethtown can be 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Hell yea bro. With a witch doctor or some sun drop it was a good meal. Whataburger is another good place. I recommend Zacks if you haven't been. It's by south blvd but its on Scaleybark.  It is kind of like Whataburgers but better. Their burgers are sublime but my favorite is their steak sandwhich. It's just delicious. :D

Cubbies in Greenville NC has good greasy sloppy cheese burgers. Went there often when I was at ecu.

Also, Swenson's in Akron has good burgers.

Gus Sir Beef is a dump. I wouldn't step foot back into that place to take a crap. It's easily one of the worst restaurants around and I don't know how it's still open. Same place with Open Kitchen on morehead street.
