It is interesting to ponder that if Newton played in a city other than Charlotte, whether he would be beloved and accepted as it seems like a person who has achieved his level of success on and off the field would.

 

Can you imagine if he played in Atlanta, Oakland, Washington, Chicago, Cleveland, Buffalo, or somewhere else.  Would he receive the same type of lukewarm attitude from such a relatively large percentage of his own fan base?  

 

is it a good number of fans that actually dislike Newton, or does it just seem that way?   Charlotte is Charlotte after all. And North Carolina is North Carolina.

Cam Newton loves the Panthers organization and Charlotte. He wants to be in the Carolinas, it's where he's building his legacy. But I'll play along anyway.

The earliest Cam Newton could leave Carolina against the team's wishes is the summer of 2018.
