i suppose youre right. I guess i do believe the Panthers really are approaching elite. im probably wrong. but i think this team and this season is stacked up to prove me right.

 

I don't think we can say 'elite' or even approaching it right now.

 

I'll settle for 'good' if we can get back to back winning seasons.

 

If we win consistently, then we can talk 'great'.

 

'Elite' doesn't happen until you've got more than one Lombardi and remain a consistent winner.

i disagree about the Lombardi part. yes consistent winning is a must and the Panthers dont have that yet. but by your definition the Purple People Eaters of the 70s werent elite...

 

everyone is right about me being highly, perhaps overly, optimistic about 2014. I am. i wont deny it. but i've followed the Panthers since 2003. ive researched the dark times right before i started following them. this year really does seem different to me. i think that 2013 was more than just a fluke. the direction of this team, even after such a controversial offseason, is still pointing upward IMHO. i'll consider the season a success if we win 10 games and make the playoffs. but it will still be a disappointment because i believe this team is better than 10-6. i believe we are better than 11-5. I believe our schedule could drive us to be better than 12-4.

Oh yeah, I caught it. I agree with you. Won't have to worry about it much because Flacco will be running for his life out there. Can't wait!

 

yea my cousin lives in Balty and is a closet Panthers fan. her favorite team is Balty so she's really looking forward to the game. I wish i could go. but i'll probably going to a couple home games this year so im not complaining

I scrolled down to 5-0 and just thought you were a homer right away.....  the Lions....  who on our team can cover Megatron?  thats not gonna be a walk in the park dude.  Go watch some film

 

wow ive never been called a homer before.... and i dont think i said it would be a walk in the park. i know Stafford and Megatron can torch a team. but that didnt stop them from losing to terrible competition last season. the Panthers are a good bit better than terrible. maybe the Lions make it difficult for the Panthers. but if we contained the likes of Brees and Brady last year, we can contain Stafford no problem. i stand by my prediction.

well this was the first of a set, and my first ever shot at predictions period. what should i be looking at for each team to make more realistic predictions?

People must be forgetting that we will have an ELITE defense which alone will have us in almost every game. 

 

As for what we will win, I havent looked at our schedule but I am predicting any where between 10-13 wins.

 

Doesn't help that we have a lame duck OC.  

 

EDIT* Just had a look and man we have a tough schedule. Getting to 11-5 will be an accomplishment imo.

 

Best case - 12-4

Worst case - 10-6

 

^^ That is assuming our OL is decent and that our WR core plays better than expected.
