Dave Gettleman ESPN 730 Interview, Must Listen

Recommended Posts

I think Kelvin is our no 1 WR from the start. I really believe gone are the days a rookie cant start right away and needs a few years to develop. Look at all the recent players in the last few years.. Guys like Julio Jones, AJ Green, our very own Star, Luke and Cam, other ones like Russell Wilson, Luck and RG III, Matt Kalil, Doug Martin the list goes on.

All those guys came in and made immediate impacts. Think about it, what players in recent memory either A. didnt start the 1st year but then came out and the following years and lit up the league or B. players that have started the first year, sucked but lit it up the following years. Infact, I would argue starting guys as rookies is the best plan. These guys dont stay 22 and 23 years old forever, you have to capitalize on that.

KB will tear it up this year.

Biggest nugget of the whole thing and fieryprophet will love this is......"We expect Brandon Williams to be a vertical threat for us this year"

Please let it be. A trio of targets consisting of Olsen, Benjamin and B. Williams? Cam would have to try to overthrow them however I feel Cam's overthrows could partially be attributed to his inability to plant and drive due to the ankle injury.

Sounded like we might have taken Juwan James if he was available.

Yep. Maybe Miami didn't screw up after all. I don't think that G-man was lying either, Zack Martin doesn't have the length he likes in a tackle. I'm not sure it means that James would've been the pick though -- from previous interviews, it sounds like James and KB had similar grades.

The national media have no idea what a wonderful interview Gettleman is. I'm sick of seeing Dimitroff and Les Snead always on tv.

As a matter of fact, Rich Eisen didn't even know the name of the current Panthers GM. During the draft telecast he had to be told by that retard Charles Davis.

That's bad. Eisen is a self proclaimed Giants fan and has mentioned his family had or has season tickets. Dude should know Gettleman.
