Manziel Not Impressing

stirs

Recommended Posts

That has about zero relevance to the conversation we are having. How about you try to keep it on topic or admit that you are wrong try top police others characters that you don't agree with out of the game and attacking a kid and using it as a guise claiming he can't play.

Ask Josh Norman if it's relevant

And for the record, Manziel actually isn't that good, and I'm far from the only person who sees that.

Based on what? Your expert opinion? Two preseason games?

You are talking out of your ass, clown.

Based on I've been watching football a long time and my eyes, though not what they used to be, still work.

Manziel has always looked like a guy with loads of bust potential based on his general profile, style of play and (especially) his attitude.

And although it is still early in the process, I've yet to see anything that makes me think otherwise.

So your "expert" opinion. That holds a lot of water scot. Lmao just the fact that you tried to cite his attitude has a reason he won't be good just confirms everything I've been saying. You don't like him personally and are using that as a guise to say he can't play. This kid could drop cam numbers his first season and you'd still be calling bust.

Confirmation bias to the highest degree. This conversation is over. I'm not going to waste anymore time on a grown man who is hating on a kid this hard on his first year in the league because he doesn't like his personality. That's literally the most childish reasoning I've ever heard of.

That's what women do when they don't like other women because she "just annoys her" grow the fug up.

Not...a...clue

So I can at least attempt to fill in the gaps in your knowledge, here's the names of players I find personally dislikeable:

- Michael Irvin (even he admitted he was a jerk in his own Hall of Fame speech)

- Conrad Dobler (known as a troublemaker, a jerk and a cheater...and revels in that reputation)

- Ray Rice (does this really need an explanation?)

Now, what do all of those guys have in common besides being a--holes?

They all are - or were - great football players.

See, it's not that difficult to separate personal dislikes from player evaluation.  But you do also have to figure in the effect that poor character has on things like work ethic, teammate relationships, etc.

That's it.  No emotion needed.  Which makes me wonder why you're so emotional about the whole topic

Naming three guys you personally dislike as to cover yourself by saying I hate these guys but they are good football players is completely irrelevant to this topic.

I'm not the only person who can see your bias when it comes to Johnny and you've been called out by other posters on it. Your need to throw other irrelevant topics and questions or only a means to divert attention from the actually discussion which is and has always been about your confirmation bias when it comes to this kid.

He was pretty damn bad.  I mean, most of the fan base was wanting him to start to get him some experience and to not have to see Clausen again, but no one expected him to bust out of the gates like he did.  Cam Newton having back to back 400+ yard passing games to begin his career after that preseason has to be one of the most shockingly positive things I can ever recall in all my years of following the Panther

I am amazed that some of you still have  a hard time admitting that u were way more harsh with your scrutiny of Cam's game his first year. Cam had 10000 times more pressure on him than Manziel his rookie season. Folks in the media wanted him to fail and set out to undermine every throw, every arc, every move he made. With Manziel those in the media are simply looking for a little glimmer of light to say, he's the Brown's starting QB.

Heck if every rookie was analyzed on the same level as Cam, They would never be starting QBs today.

It's really not the media's fault they just do what gets views. it's the public's fault. the public wants Cam to be a villain, thus ESPN is going to show that stuff. The public likes Johnny Manziel, thus they are going to slob on him. They aren't doing it for any other reason other than views.

Those in the media always want to take credit for something they didn't do. So by painting Cam into some immature brat with exceptional talent, when he turns the corner and they know he will because they know Cam isn't what they are making him out to be, they can take some credit for his growth.

The media knows with Manziel, what u see is what u get. They know Manziel doesn't have half the talent Cam and some of the other young QBs out there have but they know many football fans see Manziel as their son going through growing pains and they believe in him. Beating up on him will only make those fans sympathetic towards him. Beating up on Cam gave some folks, even Panther fans, pure joy.

I don;t have to 'cover myself' dude.  You're not that important

And sadly, still not a clue

Keep repeating the same stuff as much as you want (given that's pretty much all you've got).  The rest of us will be watching Manziel bomb out.

Thanks for continuing to prove my point.

Riiiight

Let's be clear: I'm only bothering to respond here because I'm mildly amused.  Well that, and I wonder what Manziel is to you that you can become borderline irrational when people criticize him

It's football dude, hence it's not something that stirs my emotions in simple discussion, but you talk about Manziel as if people disliking him is some kind of personal wounding to you.  Makes me wonder why it's such a huge deal in your head.  Only thing I can figure is maybe you're just a teenage kid so everything is more dramatic. Doesn't make much sense otherwise.

Who knows?

And please don't give me some stupid response like "no, you're the one it's important to" because it's not.  Football talk is just fun for me, not life and death.  You on the other hand, take it waaaaayyyy too seriously.
