Manziel Not Impressing

Recommended Posts

Manziel absolutely has the right to conduct himself however he wants.  Other people have every right to dislike him because of the way he conducts himself.

When I think of him, my primary take isn't so much about his being a jerk (though he is) but more about the fact that I think he'll be a lousy quarterback in the NFL.

Am I wrong to say he looks like Chad Pennington? I mean I dont see much difference there. He's gonna get killed.

Definite resemblance. Very different player profile.

Pennington had a great football brain but a so-so football body (and that's being generous). Manziel has loads of athleticism but his brain - and his attitude - are in question.

There have been players who have murdered people, or carried a loaded gun to the club and ended up literally shooting themselves in the foot. Manziel hangs out with a couple of a guys, and he's an arch villain? Perhaps the sports media should stop trying to be TMZ.

And you keep making excuses for him. There are obviously degrees of severity but he is still a degree of severity .

I am sure he is studying the playbook all day while partying all night.

The bad part is that preseason is so generic, he won't see blitzes and stuff, so he might be okay.  The regular season is a new world however

He IS what he media thought Cam would be, an attention ***** and an icon.

I haven't said that he is not responsible for his own actions.

But if you are going to call him out, then also call out the media who keep reporting this kind of crap like it's actual news.

It is news dude. He's famous. If I were In his position I would do everything in my power to limit it. And yes there are ways. Let the hype die down. Dude obviously loves it though ($)

In the current social media culture where every time a celebrity sneezes it is reported instantly, and the Kardashians are considered "celebrities", this would possibly be considered news. In actual reality though, three guys hanging out means what exactly?

If the media didn't report it, they'd be accused of covering up for a 'golden boy'.

It's the age of cell phone cameras and Twitter.  Privacy is all but a myth anymore, especially for anyone with a high profile.  Sad to say but sports media is part of that now.

If he got arrested, and the media didn't report it, sure you could make that argument. But him going to a party in his off time? Come on...
