Dream Semi Realistic Offseason

Sign Hayward to a 4yr 60 mil deal

Draft

9th - SG Stauskas

You might be thinking why would I draft Staus if we just signed Hayward. I don't see any starter we can draft there. Staus would make a hell of a spark player off the bench providing instant offense.

24th - PG Tyler Ennis

Chances are he prob wont be here but it is possible. Some good players would have to fall either way. We need a reliable ball handler to spell Kemba and Ennis would fill that role nicely.

45th - PF Nikola Jokic

Worth a flyer

Will still need to find a McRibs replacement if he leaves. Also hoping Zeller improves over the offseason.

Saw my first mock draft this morning that had us taking McDermott at 9 and Wilcox at 24, then just now on BR saw one with us taking Stauskas at 9 and Napier at 24.  Who knows - we just need scoring from the outside and agreed we need a decent backup PG.

Hayward is NOT worth 15 mil a year. Any team who pays him that much will regret it big time.

So a guy projected to average 18ppg 5rb 5asts is not worth 15 mil?

Who is worth 15mil that would actually come to Cha?

Interesting trade, but I would try my best to keep 24, if we're not then Minnesota has to be giving us something decent back.

I'm thinking

GSW: Love, Martin, Charlotte's #9

Minnesota: Lee, Henderson, 2 first rounders from

GSW (on the condition that Love resigns.

Charlotte: Thompson, Muhammad

And then draft Hairston at #24

PG: Walker, Livingston, Pargo

SG: Thompson, Hairston, Neal

SF: MKG, Taylor, Muhammad, CDR

PF: Monroe, Zeller

C: Jefferson, Biyombo, Haywood

He averaged 16pts 5reb 5assist in 36mpg shooting 30% from three(that's lower than kemba, mcbob and hendo) 41% from the field(lower than hendo, mcbob and mkg) on a crap team where he was the guy. Why would you pay him more than big al when he isn't going to be the piece that wins us a championship?

Just because the team has money doesn't mean they should give out terrible contracts to average players. As for who I would rather have, I would take Stephenson if we HAVE to give someone a max contract.

No one thinks Hayward has reached his peak, so 18ppg is something ppl can see him averaging.

You realize he shot over 40% from 3 TWO years?

He was the main option in Utah where the D focused on him resulting in forced shots.

He would be a 2nd-3rd option in Cha.

Lol at Hayward being an average player

So we should pay our 2nd-3rd option max money? What sense does that make? Hayward isn't an elite scorer/shooter/defender/passer/rebounder he shouldn't be paid elite money. He is a guy that's decent at multiple things but not great at anything. If we got him at 8mil a year then great but if we have to double that for him it is a no brainer to say no.

Plus Hayward is more of a sf than a sg so I just don't see the need/fit.
