You could tell their pork was kept warm all day in a brine. :(  We had the hushpuppies for an appetizer and they were dry and crumbly.

 

 

But in other news I also went to Bella Freso Cafe in Arboretum also and it was Ah-mazing!

I clicked on this thread expecting a pic of Clausen hitting a 3 foot bong Phelps style but instead its 5 pages of actual fried pickles. I'm disappoint.

Fried pickles are great, some places put too much salt on them though.

It's how you know they don't have a well managed kitchen. They follow the procedure for a brined pickle as they would a raw potato. One has a ton of salt already the other does not.

Love them, the only issue is I eat so many it upsets my stomach.

 

Pinky's off Moorehead near the stadium has good ones.

I recently had some near Birmingham, AL while visiting friends of my wife and I. The restaurant was called Cajun Steamers and it was Delicious! Not sure if they were a chain or not
