Hurst Impressing

like I said , file it away for future reference. this is hardly the end of this story.

it is the end of the story.  the draft is over.

our roster is a fluid thing, and it will always be open for change.  Gettleman will always be evaluating our talent, as well as options out there.  when he sees an opportunity for an upgrade, he'll act.  to assume that we know more than he does about the roster and it's needs is just foolish.  he knows where our holes are, and he knows a hell of a lot more about how to fill them than we do

move on to what?  I wanted Hurst but just insert any other name and it is still the same thing. Since most say we drafted for the future then why not draft an OT for the future? it makes no sense when you consider we knew Hurst was at one point considered a 1st rd talent and could have had him or someone like him in late rds.File this away for future reference.

Well, I would have thought that we would have drafted him also, but we didn't.  Now the only thing that we can do is to pray to the football gods that either Bell or Chandler makes otherworldly improvements, we get a more than acceptable replacement free agent before the season, or we draft a future Pro-Bowler in a future draft (sooner rather than later, like we did a WR that's actually worth a damn).

But, I have filed it away, just like I filed the Keenan Allen crossover away.  G-man's redeeming grace during that pick was that Short was easily justifiable, and he arguably produced like a first round grade (just like Allen).  Will we be able to say the same thing in regards to Gaffney or the other later round picks in regards to Hurst (on a relative basis)? That remains to be seen.

the draft is over but not the results and that is what we are talking about. None of what you said changes anything about that.

Have people now invented that Hurst was a first round talent to make this sound worse? Where did that come from? At what point was this?

If someone is bitching about an UDFA then they are just bitching to hear them self bitch,

This.

Whether DG made the right decisions no one knows yet. Fill this one away for a later date.

I just watched hurst highlights on youtube and he is average. I don't see him as much of an upgrade over bell or chandler. He is not such a big loss that a thread needs to be created for him.

I bet many people said the same things about late rounds picks and UDFA's that turned into good players.

Strong logic.

Well, I certainly feel better now that you, IGSaint, has proclaimed him "average" from perusing YT videos.

Well it's my opinion. I have the right to say that he looks average just like you have the right to constantly complain about stupid poo.

Well to be fair, 32 NFL teams were doing more than "perusing youtube videos" and they each passed on him as many as 7 times, so yeah.

So you admit the only reason for all this is that you are a UNC fan?

everyone is talking about hurst, but we passed on moses to................and Allen Robinson for a DE..........the most stacked depth position IMO

bottom line it's yet to be seen if that was a good or bad move, kony could suck and moses be good or vice versa..............gottta let it play out
