Hurst Impressing

Y'all know what he is saying.  Don't hate.

But, alas, it is too late.  We must move on.

move on to what?  I wanted Hurst but just insert any other name and it is still the same thing. Since most say we drafted for the future then why not draft an OT for the future? it makes no sense when you consider we knew Hurst was at one point considered a 1st rd talent and could have had him or someone like him in late rds.File this away for future reference.

'Impressive in minicamp' is one of those things that's cool to hear, but ultimately meaningless.

Even in the rookie camp threads, you'll find people saying "cool but it's just minicamp."

Really? Because for the most part I just hear people talking about how much better our receiving corp is this year.

We have a very good #3, a slot receiver, and a rookie... that's it.

But other than talking about Bemjamin, how much of that relates to minicamp?

Our OT situation im afraid is gonna be a topic of discussion well throughout this year and next offseason.

People just need to accept it.

People have accepted it.

Most of us don't see the need to make a new thread every day just to find a new way to b--ch about it.

They didn't draft the guy you wanted. Get over it.

Gettlebuger was very clear in his presser about why he didn't draft an OT, really just two reasons:

  1. he felt that the other talent available at our picks was a higher value than the OT talent available there
  2. he felt that the OT talent at the end of the draft wasn't any better than our current OT talent

He never said he didn't want to address our OTs, and never said he was happy with our current OTs.  He said he didn't like the value of the OTs available at our picks and didn't see the later round OTs as an upgrade.  End of story.

like I said , file it away for future reference. this is hardly the end of this story.

Pretty much.

He'll be proven right or wrong down the road. But when that eventually happens, it won't be based on anyone's mini camp performance.
