Like I am worried about what you think of me.

I mean duh. It is obvious by your posts you are only here to be "One of those folks".

Why do you bother even being here? Realistically? Why are you wasting your time with us? KK says I'm an idiot. But maybe you can explain it to me. Cuz I really want to know?

I just lol that people wanted Moses in the 1st and he ended up being drafted in the 3rd round

And people are flipping out about hurst

To be honest. It is just a couple of heelz fanboys acting all up in arms. Although they claim in really isn't about Hurtsobad. It is about the total lack of interest in the whole OT thingy.

Ya right.

I know all about 5 on our board yada yada.

If we can admit there will be one or more OTs we passed on that will have nice careers, then our scouting department did not do enough to find said player(s). Especially if Bell and Chandler struggle this year causing us not do as well as we could with a competent OL.

This league like everything else in life is about results. You cant use the excuse well from our scouting we only saw x. That wont cut it.

I saw the Kurb hammer get ya. But just in case. I want to add this.

UDFAs can sign where they want, or not sign. (We may have offered a handful of OTs a contract. We don't know.) Do you skip over that? Or because it doesn't fit your argument, it doesn't count?

Just because a few high draft picks and UDFAs fall through the cracks, out of 1300 kids. GMs, and scouting depts. in general do a poor job scouting? Is that right?

Dude, you just don't get it do you? I guess when you get out of school you will have to start your own scouting service. So all those folks who haven't a clue can come to you.

Almost 13,ooo kids play College Football. And because a handful get passed over, everyone is bad at it?

Well Okay then.

That only works if the three guys they actually did take all turn out to be busts.

But even then "nice career" is a pretty low level qualification. So unless that 'nice career' is as a high-level starting quality left tackle while all our last three draft picks bust, your argument will have been a failure.

If, on the other hand, our lower round picks turn into contributors while a guy like Hurst just hangs around as depth for a few years, it'll show the right choices were made.

We have a talent evaluator, and staff, that are very good at their jobs. They didn't see any OT talent worth investing in. But for some strange reason, we are supposed to believe that you know better.

He believes he knows just as much as professional personnel guys because he has access to draft websites and YouTube.

That probably sounds so silly that you think I'm making it up. I'm not.

I get that nowadays kids have access to more info than we did growing up. But it is kinda laughable that he truly believes that if a few late rounders, and UDFAs can make a difference. Teams are not doing their jobs finding more of these guys.

He makes it sound like it is a lack of effort. That there is no other reason these kids happen to fall through the cracks.

Let me say this.  Yeah, the 31 other teams in the league passed up on Hurst seven times (some more than seven), but Hurst did play in our backyard.  If anyone should know his potential, it would have been us.  We passed up on him, so he must not have been all that great according to NFL scouts.  I'll trust them on that.  Yet if he does turn out to be perennial pro bowler, it will be interesting to see the comments around here.

'Lack of effort' would, by all accounts, be a pretty ridiculous suggestion when it comes to Gettleman. Everyone he's ever worked with pegs him as a 'nose to the grindstone' type guy.

I'd add the fact that we gave a tryout to a guy who went to college in Canada pretty well confirms that the team is searching high and low for talent.
