Bonnell Believes Hornets Will Make Run At Love

Bonnell On A Possible Trade

@rick_bonnell: It was very clear in the 15 minutes I was on the phone with Higgins that they will explore any and all trade options.

Bonnell On If The Hornets Will Target Love

@rick_bonnell: @DocRenfrow I think that call will be made. The issue isn't just assets to Wolves. It's whether Love would commit to being in CLT long-term.

@rick_bonnell: To everyone asking me about Kevin Love: The toughest thing isn't making Wolves happy. It's getting Love to commit to CLT long-term.

I don't see it happening either, but if they were able to secure a commitment from him... I'm trading multiple players and both picks.

This team right now may have reached their cieling, so if you are able to gut the team without hurting it long-term, I think you do it.

The great thing about NBA trades is the fact that salaries have to match-up which means we'd still have nearly $20m to spend.

We def need to keep the 9th pick. We will get a sure thing 20ppg player and that's what we need next to Al.

I hate to be a buzz kill and get u down. But friend I doubt we can find that kinda player with the ninth pick. Exactly who do u see as a sure thing 20 point scorer going to us. About the best case scenario would be Aaron Gordon and he could maybe turn into Blake griffin and learn how to shoot.

I just see us getting a good player but not a 20 ppg star outta the 9th pick.

I don't see how we could get him...

And again, I'd much rather have a perimeter scorer with the 9th pick to compliment our inside game with Al.  Again, I'm a big KLove fan, but I don't see how we could do it without mortgaging pretty much our entire drafting future, nor do I see him agreeing to sign here long-term unless he just misses Big Al like crazy and is the biggest MJ fan in the world.

With our drafting history, mortgaging our future doesn't sound like an awful idea to be honest with you lol.

Love is being link to Golden State due to Klay Thompson. The Lakers (no7), Boston (no5), and Chicago (no16 + no19) are names in the Love rumor too.

Minny would die to have Klay Thompson, a young stud who can flat out shoot the ball and defend. GSW is hesitant to move him, but maybe they should.

This is out of this world, but maybe a 4 team deal could happen:

CHARLOTTE: Klay Thompson

Chicago: #9 pick

Golden State: Kevin Love

Minnesota: #16 + #19 + #24 + David Lee

PG: Kemba Walker

SG: Klay Thompson / Gary Neal

SF: Michael Kidd-Gilchrist / Jeff Taylor

PF: Greg Monroe / Cody Zeller

C: Al Jefferson / Bismack Biyombo

    • he has barely suited up for 50% of our games.  It matters pending how much of our cap and resources go that way.  If he cost in the ballpark of a Surtain? No thank you.  Let someone else  And as far we know what happens when we let talent walk away or trade them…..that’s a mixed bag.   should we of paid Norman, Bradberry at CB? They probably had earned the right to be called better than Horn at that moment of the decision.  Do we regret that? Do we regret Star walking? Can take it back to Spoon.  Flip side is probably Peppers.
    • We need to get better in the redzone. And yes that is an issue that involves all the moving parts. Oline receivers QB and playcalling. But Bryce himself has to lead the charge on that or surely we could face another blowout in one of these upcoming games. Every team no matter how good they are is going to face an opponent that imposes their will on them and requires the same in response. Those are the games where we have got to capitalize on drives. Honestly I get the sense that the Chiefs on some level overlooked us.  So while I am pleased we were as competitive as we were it certainly remains to be seen if this was the beginning for something new or just an anomaly. I think that's a perfectly fair take at this juncture.
    • He is a diva, even with Baltimore winning, he will cry and pout and ask to be traded. He cares about his numbers and stats for his next contract. Ironically, his best chance to showcase his ability was with us, now he is just an afterthought.
