Fantasy football ranks and CAR

Love Fantasy football and it's offseason so I thought I'd post this.

QB

Cam ranks 4th.  Definitely someone I'd take in the 1st round of FF draft

RB

DeAngelo finally shows up at 38 and Stew at 57!  Tolbert makes an appearance at 73.

WR

Cochery at 67.  Kelvin at 77.  Not surprised here...

TE

Olson comes in at 7.

Def

CAR in 2nd place above SF but below SEA.

While these are merely FF rankings it does kind of say something about the strengths and weaknesses of each time and how they compare to other teams, don't you think?

I drafted Carolina's D after our preseason game against Baltimore last year. People in my league thought I was stupid. Then about week 5 I started getting trade offers.

a.good friend/coworker started last season with our defense, but dropped it after our second game.

He regretted it soon after.

Now I would take Cam in the 1st, but he's been falling to the 5th/6th for me. Never had him go before the 4th in a mock this year. KB13 goes as late as the 13th/14th round. Definitely worth it there. The most valuable of ours is probably our D. I've had to take them early because a lot of people have been taking them. Olsen will be a great pick regardless of where he's picked. DeAngelo/Stew just aren't reliable for fantasy and I haven't been drafting either before the last 3 or 4 rounds. Smitty is a steal in the last 3 as well. I know he's a Raven, but now that he's not the #1 target I think he'll put up 1000 yards.

I did the exact same thing. And I'm the only Panthers fan in my league so I was able to get them in one of the last rounds.

1st? Dude a large part of fantasy football is value. Yes Cam has huge upside, but I guarantee you he won't go in the first 4 rounds of your draft. So take him in the 3rd if you want him.

Either DWill or JStew will end up easily in the top 40. But the problem is predicting which one it will be week in and week out. And Stew is always close to missing a game. Both these guys are no where near starters in fantasy. Stash one on your bench and pray if you want, but they aren't even close enough to being worth wasting two roster spots with

Coch should be better than 67th and in auction drafts, i LOVE a $1 buy on Kelvin. Done 4 mocks so far and got him for that price each and every time. Gigantic upside for the value. But don't get cute and take him too early, or your literally drafting him and becoming dependent on his upside. He would lose all "value" if drafted too early. love him late tho

Tight ends not named Graham or Gronk (and maybe Vernon), are completely a crap shot. TE's ranked 3-12ish are all identical. Panther fans will take Olsen and theres nothing wrong with it. But hes exactly the same as Cameron, Reed, Pita, etc. No difference week to week in the guys ranked outside the top 3, but still top 10-15.

If you're taking Cam in the 1st round this year, or even the last couple of years, chances are you suck at fantasy football unless you drafted well late.

He's a Top 5 QB because of his rushing TDs, but due to the OL uncertainty, and the depth at QB now, he's a 4th to 5th rounder this year IMO.

I couldn't disagree more. Reed, Olsen and Rudolph will be the 2nd tier and all after that will be mediocre at best. And Gronk?? I wouldn't even draft him in the 7th round if he were there.

I think any QB in the first round means you suck at fantasy football. Only one you could make an argument for right now would be Peyton, and I personally still wouldn't take him.
