asheville brewing co for good beer and pizza.

honestly, if you want breweries/restaurants... walk around town any direction for five minutes and you'll run into one.  LAB, Jack of the Wood, Wicked Weed, they're all over the place

i'll also say biscuithead if you do breakfast... amazing

As far as where to stay... Just find the cheapest hotel downtown on the west side. Stay away from Biltmore Village.

Biltmore is expensive as hell, always super crowded with tourists, & the most boring spot in Asheville. There's nothing interesting in Biltmore. Stay downtown or on the other side of Asheville.

Dozens of great places to go hiking if you like that kinda thing

Ah my old stomping grounds.  I'm basing my information on the 3 years ago that I lived there so...maybe these things still exist.  Thirsty Monk has a great selection of beers, One Stop Deli tends to have the live music on the weeknights, LAB is a cool place, Wedge Brewery is cool.  Basically everything fun to do in Asheville involves beer.
