WFNZ update

Frank is a nice guy but he absolutely butchers the English language.

I liked Packer for the entertainment value (off and on--a couple times a week was enough) and he had some great guests.  Love Mac in the mornings.  Marc James was really hard to listen to.

Hopefully they can find someone with as much expertise as the average huddle member.  :-)

Hopefully Nate Conley will be the next one to go on WFNZ.

James is one of the worst media personalities I've ever seen in Charlotte and I've lived here for 20+ years.

I like Colin but he does not have a voice for radio.

I wonder what the ratings became after Taylor Zazour left. He was key to keep Marc in check and balance it out to make it somewhat listenable.

When he left I had to turnoff my phone pretty quick as it got annoying pretty quick unless Brendan Haywood was in studio.

I would imagine it was tanking.

Disagree, when he gets worked up, he flounders too often and gets stuck making bad sentences that don't make sense, almost like he just remembered he was on live radio. Colin is the best of the non-hosts. Maybe we'll get Smitty & Gross in 2-3 years...

Pretty sure gross could just do his own podcast and make more money than a radio salary.

This is Gross was really really good. I could see him doing 30 minutes or an hour show per week on NFLN. Of course he would have to cover all 32 teams. I could also see him do a 10 minute spot every week on one of the network pre game shows.

And I say that to say his work is good enough to go National. Of course I would rather have him working for the Panthers.

This is the first Im hearing about Marc leaving the show! That is great, great  news! I hate the guy but there is literally nothing else to listen to in Raleigh. It would be even more awesome if Jordan Gross or someone with actual love and knowledge of the Panthers took over.

It was so hard to listen to Marc badmouth Cam before last season for not "proving he could get wins" and then to have him totally change tunes and act like he loved Cam all along once it was clear we were going to have a good season.

I'd be happy with an hour of silence instead of listening to Marc James.

That is pretty much what has been on during my drive home this year. I would occasionally check in just to turn it back off after 10 minutes.

I like Kilgo, but I think everyday would get old. Cornbread was great as a guest last week (I know not an option). For all the bad that Packer's show was, I did like the single main host with the rotating co-host.

Agree with everything you just said! Nate annoys the hell out of me! He tries to talk to much and often interrupts the "hosts"! I about fell asleep listening to Colin today! Boring, and terrible Voice!

Has anyone been listening to Jeff Reed when he fills in?  Holy crap, more of an egomaniac douchebag than Marc James.

He starts off to every phone caller, "Thanks for calling in, not sure if you know, but you're talking to 2-time super bowl champ Jeff Reed..."(listens for 15 seconds to caller)...."Man, that is great stuff, thanks for calling in but did I mention that I was a 2-time NFL Super Bowl Champ?  Not sure if you knew that but I happened to win the Super Bowl.... twice... as the place kicker.  And I don't know if anyone every really said that I was the greatest kicker ever... but I probably am... just for the record.  And sure, I've had some DUI's but I'm still an awesome role model to little kids cause I'm a 2 time Super Bowl Champ and my real hair looks like the hair visors with the fake Guy Fiery hair sticking out the top, it's cool like it was when I went to UNC."

Next Caller

Same as above
