C+??!!

Off with your head!

Ha! I expected that

Hehe, do you revisit your grades later?

Good question! Actually, Chris James (our Draft Analyst) and I are planning to do Draft Re-Visit videos this summer

Let me guess...

We didn't fill our "needs"?

Yes and No…with a defensive minded HC, I'm not at all surprised that he just couldn't go more O than D

Well, I gave us a C+ also, so what am I going to say?    What he said.

What do you think they could've done to push the grade up higher?

What do you think they could've done to push the grade up higher?

Kevin Norwood or Devin Street in the 4th

Benwikere in the 5th (if still available) or Antone Exum

Quincy Enunwa or Jeff Janis in round 6

James Hurst in round 7

I would have been a lot happier, and think that the grade would have been at least a B+.  Of course it's Sunday morining drafting (if you will).  James Hurst would have been the cherry on top for me (real value).  I would have even graded it a B if we had still taken Boston in the 4th. But, at the end of the day, it is what it is.

He selected an WR, OG, and a RB.

What did you want?  Another TE?  A center?

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh... now I understand.

An OT.

So, like I said, you didn't like it because in your closed little box of a world, you draft only for "need".

That's what I said in the first place.

How did we get a C+ when our 1st, 2nd and 3rd rounders were ranked by you guys overall at 142, 124 and "off the board"????  I'd respect this piece a little more if you just came out and gave it the D- it deserves based on your rankings.

I grade your gameday analysis at an "A" level.  But after looking at your draft board rankings you seem to swing to extremes.  So, C+'s all around!

Actually, I would've preferred another WR instead of a RB. Do you think RB & OG was more of a need than OT & 2 WRs? And my 'little closed box of a world' I actually think Kugbila could be what you needed at guard more so than spending a 3rd on Turner. 'My little closed box of a world' would allow me to at least give the guy that was drafted last year in the 4th round a chance to prove it on the field…but I guess that's just small time thinking.

Because you can't control what happens on draft day and just because I would've 'preferred' other targets than Benjamin, like I mentioned in the piece, I can't be upset if he was 'their guy' and they wanted him. Also, it would be unfair to grade a team based of 'my rankings' as opposed to the player they drafted & how he'll fit. My grades are talent based and my personal opinion on the prospects. Sure some guys are 'reaches' so to speak but that's not reflected in how I evaluate the team's draft. So even if I had Benjamin as my 16th best receiver…I know that teams had him in their Top 10; For grading purposes, I have to look at it more from a 'how the player's talents fit' perspective.

Good afternoon Panthers fans! Here's my Draft Grades for you guys

Enjoy!

Em

The difference between this grade and others is that there is thought out logic behind the conclusion. Not saying I like it or agree with it but I do respect it. OP is thorough and I like his perspective. We'll done.
