That's quite surprising that they only cost that much. The bigger games were $50+ at release back in the late 90s.

They did research and basically 60 dollars is the most people are willing to pay in a lump sum for a game. Back in the day there wasn't nearly as robust a used games market. If it's too expensive people will just buy it used a few months later.

But they still get their money via micro transactions. Back in the 90s if you wanted to unlock a new level or whatever you had to do it by beating the game. Now you pay 10 dollars and get access to "additional" content. Some people pay subscriptions for game updates and new maps. You can even buy cosmetic things like uniforms or armor.

It's like buying your daughter a 60 dollar barbie and all it comes with is a bathing suit. All the brushes, houses, cars, and clothes are extra.

It's a total racket.

It ain't that bad! None of my games have DLC other than map packs that come out every half a year or so.

I've never paid for DLC other than maps or expansions. Usually for the other stuff you can unlock it the old fashioned way or get microtransactioned to death. I always choose the old fashioned way.

I don't own a video system but I have been wanting to play some football in the offseason. If Cam wins, I am definitely getting me a system (probably 360 or ps3) They are cheap at this moment. Those new systems IMO are not worth it at this point and not worth me shelling out 500 bucks..
