Gotta have the threat there, but we definitely need a proper balance. I'm more worried about cheap shots.

Last year we converted 71.43% of our 4th down attempts. How many of those were 4th and 1 I'm not sure.  I say you go for it everytime (4th and 1) regardless of field position because the average field position gained by punting usually isn't worth it if it means sustaining a drive. There are studies that back this up.

Well that was because our Guards got stood up badly on those plays. I remember hearing the commentators speak of it. Hopefully Turned will  be solid on the line. 4th and 1? I would take that gamble almost everytime depending on how the oline will hold up.

I would say 80% of the time, which is almost automatic...but it also depends on field position.
