People forget other teams get to draft too. Like how Pierre Dessir was taken I think one spot ahead of us, or Donte Moncrief one or two spots. Who is to say our draft looks anything like it does if other people didn't fall. The colts defense is garbage and yet they drafted 15 receivers. They are basically the antithesis of our team.

I usually like this guy's writing, but here he's tripping all over himself trying to be clever. really weird. I don't even mind the assessment so much as how he's expressing it.  good for you turning a couple of awkward phrases, I guess?

this asshole is wrong. lavonte david or someone will blow through bells shitty blocking time and time again, and then cam will be taken out of games because he's been hit way too much and got hurt, so nobody can really blame him.

I went back to look for his mock and he had Benjamin going to N.O. yet he bashes us for picking him.  He also had Ealy going in the 1st ( 24th to Cincinnati) and says that that pick has "good value".  So with our 28th and 60th picks the Panthers grab what he thought were the 27th and 24th picks respectively and even still he says the Panthers need improvement in finding talent.  Most if not all of these guys are hypocritical in their assessment.  He is no exception.

reminds me of the writer for the Boston Globe that predicted the 2013 Red Sox to finish last, when they ended up with the best record in Major League Baseball and won the World Series convincingly over the next-best team in MLB

and he wasn't the only one that thought the Red Sox would finish last...

We got praised (with an A- grade) by some talking heads and slammed by others. Just goes to show that none of 'em know what they're talking about. They're just guessing. I guarantee that in 2000 some said the Pats shouldn't have wasted a sixth round pick on Brady.

He's right here - our situation is entirely self-inflicted. We ran all our receivers out of town, let our secondary walk, let our ace return guy walk, saw half our line retire, and opted to pay a defensive end $13 million (handicapping us all of free agency) rather than really fix these holes.

In the draft, we spent as much picks on DE and RB as we did WR and O-line. Byron Bell may be our left tackle, but at least we drafted another back! It's not like we already have four of them or anything. And we could have fixed a need spot, but why not draft another defensive end who will at best be a #3? It's not like we could have got a starter or anything.

In light of the first bit (self-inflicted wound), the draft simply wasn't good at all. Stop pretending it is - we are only marginally better than we were before it.

Tanier has been a supporter of the Panthers/Cam, he was a believer last season when everyone else thought we were frauds. His draft "grade" is not pretty; this is just the conclusion:

It's not that he didn't re-sign all of them. It's that he didn't re-sign ANY of them.
