Manziel mania: Why the phenomenon?

Or how about people who genuinely think he will be a good qb and is exciting to watch? More often then not those people are sane and rational. Then you have people like yourself and can't stand the coverage the kid is getting and throw temper tantrums like a 5 year old.

I have yet to meet someone who actually knows and has played football (including myself) who thinks Manziel would be more than anything but a average to below average starter in the league

Your hyping him up in your mind, be prepared to be enlightened come the regular season

I'll be careful to not tell you I told you so

Not hardly. Manziel can actually throw the football. Nice try though.

The calf threw quite well in college as well. Much easier when your receivers aren't smothered a by a corner and they get separation more often than not.

Have you been living under a rock? MULTIPLE MULTIPLE former players have come out and said this guy is going to be great. Do you even know what you are talking about or do you just pull stuff from your ass?

Primetime loves him and said he should have been picked number 1.

Please stop looking like a fool. That took me 5 seconds to find. I could come back with a list of former players if I really tried.

Who refers to Manziel displaying "ghetto tendencies"

That doesn't help your cause, rather hurts it more than anything

No it's an accurate reason why people like you don't like him. Because he's good and doesn't hide it he shows it. That rubs idiots like you the wrong way because you can't handle in your face people like that and actually says more about your deep seeded insecurities than it does about Johnny. And Deion is just one of many. But Wahh keep crying

People bashed Cam for the same exact thing

Now Manziel comes in and gets a pass

fuging typical

And again I ask, so what?

Last time I checked, popularity doesn't win games, and winning games is really all I give a rat's ass about.

If Manziel busts - as I think he will - he'll be an afterthought.

Likewise, Newton's popularity will be determined by whether or not he proves to be a consistent winner.

I think he can, and because of that I really don't give a rip who gets more airtime on ESPN this week.

You wanna be the center of attention?  Win!

Has nothing to do with that. Manziel has a much better arm and mechanics than The Golden Calf of Bristol ever had.

Actually it has everything to do with that, he is going to struggle with accuracy because the receivers don't get the separation and he will not have the luxury of running around until they do like he did at A&M. Yes he has better throwing arm mechanics than The Golden Calf of Bristol but that is a pretty low bar. His lower body and footwork have a long way to go.
