Hornets Meet With Rodney Hood

Recommended Posts

Steve Kyler: OKC, Bobcats, Cavs and Lakers among teams that met with Rodney Hood Twitter @stevekylerNBA

I know a lot of people are interested in the Hornets taking Hood or Hairston with their first round pick and it seems as though the team is doing their due dilignece.

Last year Hood averaged 16.1 points per game (on 46% shooting), 3.9 rebounds per game, 2.1 assists per game, and shot a very impressive 42% from behind the arc. Hood had a career high 30 points against ECU last year on 8-10 shooting (80%) a long with shooting a perfect 12-12 from the free throw line.

DraftExpress currently has Rodney Hood going 22nd overall to the Memphis Grizzlies (two picks before the Charlotte Hornets).

Update from Bonnell

Rick Bonnell: I'm told Bobcats met with Duke's Rodney Hood last night, so they're obviously planning for possibility they get Detroit's pick.

Rick Bonnell: I get the sense from Duke's Rodney Hood there's a lot of mutual interest between him and the Bobcats. Bobcats met with Hood last night. He said they stuck out as being particularly knowledgeable about his game. Bobcats front office talked to Hood about how much more effective he was when he earned trips to the foul line. That's a big Clifford thing.

hell no another kemba

I don't know if this is a troll post or not. They are nothing alike and Hood has 7 inches on Kemba.

the duke "system" obviously cost Hood some money this year but once he gets with a coach that can properly utilize him I could see him being a very solid player. Running from baseline to baseline chucking threes doesn't really highlight a player like Hood's abilities to pro scouts. I'd love the pick if he's there when we are on the clock. He'd fit a big need.
