wfnz needs to man the fug up and bring in more national syndicated radio..

1st on the list:  Dan Patrick from 9-12...

2nd on that list:  Scott Van Pelt/Ryen Russillo

two of the best shows on terrestrial radio..

Dan Patrick is the king of interviews.  Hands down, no one close.  Scott Van Pelt provides a show that refuses to throw mud just to grab listeners.

These 2 shows should be a staple for their broadcasts and then fill in the rest with their garbage.

Love those 2 shows also and I don't know how all of that works but I can't see a CBS radio station syndicating an ESPN radioshow or even Patrick's with his ties to NBC.

I don't know who they are going to bring in but I wouldn't mind seeing Colin getting a chance to be part of it in some way.  Eric Weidl as a guest on WFNZ has always impressed me when it comes to draft talk. From what they are saying, he has a wide range of sports knowledge and if it is half of what he knows about the draft then I'd be on board to see how he does.

As far as Marc, love him or hate him...that man is an encylopedia of sports knowledge but that is often overlooked due to his personality.  How he presented himself and shared that knowledge had a lot ot be desired.

I'm with ya on that.  And granted since moving to Charlotte I haven't listened in a good 2 years but it never seemed to overshadow their show.  Or maybe I just glossed over during those segments.  Entirely possible.

As sad as this is to admit, even the shittiest radio in Charlotte at least had me tuning in from time to time just because it was Panthers related.  I would say that morning radio and the drive home still leaves that airspace vacant for a local show.  I don't know if I trust them to fill that time with a host that doesn't ear fug his audience, but it'll still be Panther related.

I'm not sure either..  However, I know Raleigh has it going on.  Are both 730 and 610 owned by the same company?  99.9 The Fan and 620 The Buzz in Raleigh are both connected, but 620am has Dan Patrick in the morning and 99.9 The Fan has Scott Van Pelt around 2pm.  I think an hour is cut off of both Jim Rome and Scott Van Pelt to both give them an equal 2 hours.

Did one of you guys call up Mac this morning and rip Marc James? Whoever it was was lobbying for Colin to get a shot. It was pretty funny and I immediately thought it was a Huddler. (Naturally)

Pardon me. I should know better.

The dude basically said that he's been complaining about how awful Marc was for 3 years and that he's glad he's gone. Mac got a little salty telling him he should have complained about Marc to Marc himself instead of him. The guy then proceeds to lobby for Colin and Nate to take over the Drive.

yes you should..  tsk tsk

What Mac forgot to consider was Marc wouldn't have let this guy complain about Marc to Marc himself over the radio..

This is 100% accurate. He would have talked over the caller the whole time before calling him a name and hanging up.
