Recapping What We Know After Greg Hardy’s First Court Appearance (BBR)

I just find it pretty hard to believe that a man did something wrong to a woman. These false reports or abuse and rape far outnumber the actual cases of abuse or rape. Any woman who accuses a man of beating her should be beaten on the spot.

You've solved society.

Around the time of his divorce, my brother used to say things like "the world would be a better place if every man was required to beat his wife once a day".  Even said that in front of our father once.

While I'll grant that his first wife was a piece of work, I didn't hang around him much during that time because the way he acted made me want to kick his ass.

Having been through an assault case that would negatively affect my football team in the past year, let me just save everyone the time and tell you you're not a true fan unless you're convinced this woman threw herself onto those guns Fight Club style, Hardy is innocent, and this woman is just out for a payday.

Damn cleat chasers just out chasin those cleats!

Domestic violence is always a bad thing.

Noatter what happens, the man is.most often blamed. (Though for good reasons)

This sucks for everybody involved.

At most, by law, Hardy will be placed on probation.

He won't serve any time.

What comes from the teams investigation is what Hardy should be worried about.

A warrant was sworn out. Whether that was because she pressed charges or just the police felt it should be? Don't know.

One of our resident law office folks might know how that works.

she doesn't have to press charges. She could beg them not to, but it's up to the officers responding, and they still can.

I came close on more than one occasion.  Didn't do it primarily because he's my brother but also because I'm not a violent person.

Happily he grew out of it and is now married to a much better woman with whom he has a sweet, wonderful daughter (who keeps her uncle wrapped around her little finger).

I've heard it's that way in a lot of places.

Laws like that went on the books primarily because officers all too often would respond to domestics where the woman would clam up and/or not want to press charges.  Then later on they'd be back at the same address needing a body bag.

Doesn't mean the officers always get it right.

No, but i agree with the spirit of the law.

As far as this story, the whole situation sounds so messed up right now it's gonna be pretty difficult to get to the truth.

Happy it's not my job.

If she had told the cops that he had loaded automatic weapons loaded in his apartment when they first arrived and they found him to be inebriated at that time there is zero, nada, nilch percent chance that they'd let him go back into that apartment and then turn himself in later. He'd have been arrested on the spot and they would have used that as PC to enter his apartment.

If she said something about guns, it was well after the fact.

as far as this story is, we'll never get the truth, cause it'll most likely remain a he said, she said thing. Which is bad for.both parties involved.

I agree with the spirit of the law. I respect it.

I personally can't stand to see a woman or child get abused.

But I also know the cops do get it wrong sometimes, and they can't undo what they do.

Sucks for.more than just the cops.
