Huddle opinion..Hardy and J.R's tolerance level

Because the team is going to judge cases individually.  Bridges, Alexander, Hardy, etc.

To be clear, Bridges first incident was not a case of domestic violence.  He was involved a volatile situation and the team, it would appear, was satisfied with his explanation of things.  He was still let go a year later and was brought back after three years away for a total of three weeks and then let go again.

On the flipside, Chris Terry was a second round pick and a starter going into 2002, but a domestic violence charge got him his walking papers.

Regarding Smith, very few teams get through an entire training camp without a fight happening.  If you think there's some sort of moral equivalence between two football players fighting and a guy beating a woman...well, that's just sad.

Frank Alexander was already in the doghouse before his suspension.  Now, who knows?  the Hardy situation may actually have given him a reprieve.  Though it won't surprise me if he's ultimately gone too.

So it has to be domestic violence to be bad enough to get cut? got it.  So all Hardy has to do is give a good enough explanation and this goes away for him like it did Bridges yes?

At no point did I say fighting a teammate was the same as fighting a woman, nice try though. The only thing that's sad is you actually believing the Panthers have some sort of moral superiority over other teams in the NFL

No, most teams don't have players getting arrested for assault for fights that happen in film rooms. You're right that they just each case individually, which is what I said at the very beginning... Greg Hardy's talent will make this arrest "ok" whereas other arrests for lesser players aren't.

If they keep him I am willing to bet a psychological counseling therapy is going to be required. Anger management or something like that. LIke what SMitty had to do.

Also, a substance abuse program as he appears to be an alcoholic.

I think everyone needs to remember:

A) how supportive JR is of the league and the league's position, and

B) that the league must have a very heightened concern for domestic violence given how recent the Steve McNair and Javon Belcher tragedies have occurred.

How it all shakes out, I have no idea. But with our franchise history (Carruth) I don't think there is going to be much tolerance if he is found guilty.

Hardy is done here if any of these accusations are true. Given that the judge felt like Hardy was still a danger to his girlfriend says a lot bc she did examine the facts.

No, I don't think JR, Gettleman or Rivera is stupid enough to release one of the top 3 most talented players on the roster if this thing plays out like the 911 call sounds.  If he hit her and body slammed her onto a bed with 30 gatling guns and rocket launchers then yea he's probably gone the day after the revelation franchise tag or no, no matter the financial repercussions.

Gantt said they'd likely try to trade him first as a straight release would majorly screw the salary cap.

Can't imagine that's an easy trade to swing, though.

If the charges are true I'm sure they'd try (though not because Gantt said so, he has quickly become one of the guys I don't believe a word from until I see it from other sources), but if they couldn't trade him I don't believe for a second he'd be on the roster when training camp gets here.  IF true.

If even a part of the things he's being accused of turns out to be true, he's likely gone.  It's only a matter of how.

If it's proven false, he stays but likely plays under a shadow.

What's gonna happen?  No idea.

One side note: Given the seriousness of this situation, I kinda wonder if we'll see the 'Kraken' persona again.  i remember Kris Jenkins being "Big Kid" until a big blowup with the mother of his kid was all over the news and Jenkins suddenly changed.  He was no longer the big, fun guy, and eventually he wasn't a member of the team anymore.

Makes me wonder if, even should he come out of this unscathed, the experience will change Hardy too.
