Ill say what I want: The 2nd amendment allows for Americans to have the right to own as many guns as they want.

Ohh that's what the constitution says, herp derp you can use that argument for pretty much anything. it doesn't change the fact that its overkill to own 30 guns, especially when you're an athlete and people are always out to get you.

I don't really care much about a guy owning guns, though I'll grant that both "why do you need an assault rifle" and "just how many guns do you really need" are legitimate questions.

To me, his gun ownership shouldn't matter to the narrative (though it will to some, which is why the story is out there).

That's an ignorant statement. I bet you would have said the same thing about carrying a weapon to go see a movie before the tragedy in Colorado took place.

When you take the class required for a concealed permit(assuming ur state has said class), they tell you to get comfortable carrying everywhere you legally can(ie not bars, govt property etc).

It's legal to carry in bars in NC now, just can't be drinking.

It's now legal in NC to conceal carry in a bar if you are not consuming alcohol.

No citizen legally owns assault weapons.

Only a dipshit would have a gun in his waistband at a lake party, I don't care how many guns you own or how much you know about gun laws. Having a concealed pistol in a social setting is always a stupid idea. What were you carrying for, protection against pirates?

i bet someone wished they had a concealed firearm at the batman movie shooting

I just skimmed the thread so I don't know if its been brought up, but if she's claiming the injuries/some of the injuries were caused by getting thrown onto a bed covered in weapons, she either has some damning evidence against Hardy, or she just fugged up by trying to make him seem crazier due to the fact that the injuries would match up to the gun parts, & her DNA would be on the guns.

Thats all great until a retired cop shoots you for using your phone in a movie.

I honestly don't think it's going to matter about DNA, not like CSI is needed her, it's a misdemeanor charge, if they wanted to pin more on thy'd have already done so. He'll probably just take his slap on the wrist and move on. Will be a non issue in 6 month's.

I still say it's silly to carry a weapon to the movies. And I've been in a theater where someone pulled a pistol, two rows behind me, and somehow I survived without my own gun. I'm not going to live every day in fear of something that has less chance of happening than being struck by lighting while being attacked by a shark. Sure is a good thing that retired cop had a pistol so he could shoot that guy for throwing popcorn at him...bet he feels stupid now for thinking the guy was pulling his own concealed weapon and shooting in 'self defense.'

I'm not against concealed carry, but the reality is that most people can train and train and train on a range, and still never have any reasonable certainty that they'll know what the fug to do when confronted with a situation like Aurora or VA Tech. Guns also make cowboys out of cowards. It's easy to be tough when you think you have a gun to back you up.

If you're closing your business late at night, or traveling on a long trip on the interstate, or backpacking long distances alone, I don't have any problems with concealed carry, legal or illegal. However I think carrying out in public everyday, in anticipation that you might have to/get to stop some armed lunatic is sad and dangerous.

I went fishing with my buddies 60 miles into open ocean and while fishing I realized one of my buddies was packing heat. I asked him why does he needs a gun 60 miles in open ocean with 5 other close friends and he said he never leaves his house without a gun. He even goes to church with his gun. I guess it's his security blanket.

True, but it could also help clear his name if (note the "if" people) this is a case of crazy ex.

Thanks for the pics, but do you blame him? He is a celeb, and a little nuts. If I was a millionaire I'd for be packing just for my safety. Hell, even you were packin. It's not like he was aiming and shooting at people.

When is the last time you heard an NFL player story that ended:

"but thankfully the all-pro wide receiver had a gun and disaster was averted."

If there was one place if carry it'd be a church. Lots of crazy in those places.
