Are Jags gonna cut Blackmon?

Recommended Posts

If GMan viewed Smitty as a distraction how do you think he would view Blackmon? I would rather stick with what we have.

That was a totally different scenario.  Blackmon would be coming into the organization under a zero tolerance policy.  It would be his second chance to turn it around.  It's Cam and Kuechly's team and he would know that coming in.  Smitty was here way before any other current team leaders and probably had a loud voice in the locker room.  You're comparing apples and oranges.

Agree that this is an apples and oranges comparison but my point is that in GMans mind I believe he would be convinced that both fruits are rotten.

yep if he gets cut....which he will. go after him. see if he can get back before the season starts. league didn't give up on jared allen and  mike vick.

just give him a chance because he is worth it if he changes.

k-beast + Blackmon + cam = great offense.

Yup sure give him a chance. Well...maybe not, we don't need the distraction right now. But, the kid can ball when he is sober. Yeah but is he ready to grow up? Man the dude is a stud, do want. You think he can get his shiit together? Yup, he be the answer to our prayers. Or not.

Hellz I don't know. Part of me says hell yeah give the kid a chance. And part of me says hell no, stay away.

Here's what people miss when they talk about giving proven knuckleheads another chance...

Let's say you bring him in and you make him an important part of your offense.  He has a great season and we make the playoffs.  It's week 14 or 15 and everything's in place for a Super Bowl run and...

Wait, what?  He got another DUI?  Tested positive for drugs?  Did something stupid?  We've lost the guy that we built our offense around for the entire playoffs?  CRAP!

Teammates don't want teammates who are likely to let them down.

Guys that have shown they'll continue to do stupid things even when they know they're under the gun?  Not somebody you want to rely on.

I love a potential WR1, but after looking at Blackmon and Gordon, I wouldn't touch either one of them with a ten foot pole.  When you choose substances over millions, you either have serious problems, or are just stupid (or both).  It's not like either one of these guys hasn't gotten their fair share of chances (which I definitely believe in), but chances and patience runs out.  Let some other club roll the dice.
