10 catches between king and mcnutt this season. maybe 15, but i think that's being generous.

tbh, i think one gets cut and the other doesn't see the field except for in random packages and will rarely have the ball thrown their way.

i think people are forgetting that this isn't exactly an offense that gives WRs many opportunities at all. if you aren't cotchery, avant, benjamin, or maybe underwood, and are a WR, youd be lucky to even see play time most games and will only be thrown to a handful of times all season.

This. Hixon caught 7 balls last year. So unless you are one of the top 3 WRs in this offense you're not getting many touches barring injuries.

Not saying they are a sure thing to make the roster but IMO Avant and Cocthrey were brought in to ease the transition of more then 1 young WR. They didn't draft another young wr. These guys already have a head start on developing then any WR drafted after the 1st 2 rounds.

We will see how the reps are divided in TC but again I'm willing to bet these guys get every opportunity to win jobs and one could be the 3rd wr.

King is basically the only WR we have that can get behind the defense. He ran a 4.47 at the combine but was a vertical threat in college. For that reason alone I think he makes it. I see many flanker screens involving him and Benjamin this season.

I could see a situation where 1 of the older guys isn't a starter.

Both vets were brought in as teachers in the classroom and on the field. But 1 could be a insurance policy (4th or 5th) just in case the young guys (KB, Mcnutt, King) don't catch on fast enough.

I think people see Underwood as a guy who is older then (Mcnutt, King) who has had more opportunities then those guys and hasn't produce to a level of competency.

So he gets over looked.

It suggest to me that they are not as impressed by his football skills as fans are by his physique. If he has what it takes he will show it.

WHy would you consider late round draft picks who produced nothing early round draft picks a year later?

 

then consider then late round draft picks.....................doesn't really matter once your on the team.

 

was just comparing them to a draft pick because we gave up nothing to get them ..........except salary and roster spot.
