Paging Brooklyn Bully (NYC questions)

Recommended Posts

There actually is a BBQ place close to us, Maine. I forgot. Haven't been there though. Hill Country BBQ and Market. Just walk through MetroTech past the F stop and cross Jay St. Walk through that path between buildings toward Adams. Take a left. There is a new taco joint about to open, a yougurt place, a Panera, then Hill Country Chicken (Chic Fil A meet Bojangles) and of course the famous Shake Shack! But if you turn the corner around Hill Country Chicken, in a separate spot is the BBQ joint. They have live music. It's pretty big. No clue if it's good. BUT it's close and that's what matters most.

I have Nets season tickets but I guess you'll be gone by the time next season rolls around. By the way, next time you're on the B or Q going into the city from the DeKalb station, sit on the right side of the train as it goes forward and look out the window before you get to the bridge. Some artist did some insane piece that works like a "flip book". No idea how they did it, but the art moves. There's a rocket ship and it blasts off. Real rad.

Hill Country is probably my least favorite of the bbq's. Only been to the one on 26th in manhattan a couple times not the one on BK but never was impressed. Better than only Dallas and brother Jimmy's but at BJ at least u can cop a cheerwine

It's faster to walk though. From Dekalb to the arena is only 4-5 blocks. The time you'll wait for a train isn't worth it. Maybe if it's raining though.

Yeah true but I wasn't sure if walking through Brooklyn around midnight was the best idea even though I think I would have been fine. Also, breaking in new leather shoes doesn't exactly make for the most enjoyable walk home. My feet were killing me after being on them for almost 10 hours at the Barclays Center. Most likely I will walk to work every day and only use the subway when it rains or late at night after an event.

Your legs and feet will turn into machines after a few weeks here since we walk everywhere. And our area of BK is fine. Maybe walking down a side street near a housing project at 4 AM might invite a mugger but even that's a rarity. Don't carry a wallet, walk swiftly and like you know where you're going, and don't make eye contact, lol. You'll be fine.

if you need to get rid of tickets throughout the season keep me in mind, I like to go every now and again.  Yea that moving art is pretty cool.  You going to any concerts there this summer?  Arcade Fire or Black Keys?

It takes extra effort, but its worth it on a weekend to take a bike over to Red Hook.  Brooklyn Crab, Hometeam BBQ, Steve's Key Lime Pie(yes they use real Key limes), Botanica - they make whiskey there, The Good Fork and plus the views of lower Manhattan and the Statue are great.  I would recommend a Sunday because they have ball fields and I swear the entire hispanic community comes out for futbol and baseball where there are sometime 20 food trucks.  I was introduced to a Salvadorian dish called papusas.  Anyway, I figured I'd throw Red Hook in there because it is that nice but there are no trains that go there.
