Noel Devine: unheralded Phenom could challenge late round backs

I remember seeing his high school tape back in the day and thinking that he was going to be a future stud. This is really the first time I've watched his tape since that point, and frankly, I'm not that impressed.

The highlights from the CFL show me a player that has speed and a little bit of vision, but neither are anything that puts him above any number of scrubs all over the NFL. In particular, he was getting chased down nearly every time he managed to break through a hole...many times when he had open field ahead. Considering this was against CFL level players, he should be dominating if he has any chance to make it in the NFL. If anything, he just looks like an average CFL guy, and nothing better than what we could pick up from random Arena Football teams.

I suppose you think Gaffney is much better because he played at stanford lol.

Think he comes in and is instantly the fastest player on our team. Not predicting star but maybe the best kr guy we have on the team already. This was a solid find. And if anyone bashes canadian football I dont understand how you can with gaydosh and alex hall on the roster.

Yeah didnt see anything that really impressed me in that video.  Reminded me of how he played in College.  Good RB but the speed for some reason isnt there.   Even if he posted a good 40 time.  He gets hit and instantly goes down.

I saw some good returns. Keep in mind this is only in 6 games.

He got cut from the Montreal CFL team because he had 6 fumbles in 6 games. That's including a horrible 3 fumble game.
