See! Sometimes patience makes for a better draft analysis (and a better attitude).

Most of the picks make perfect sense

Ealy and Gaffney are "guys on the roster picks." Before the draft we did not have the solution to where our starting DE and RB would be in say 2 years. Now we do. Thinking long term is a good thing

Trai is a day 1 starter

Benjamin has obvious potential.

The two backfield picks I just don't know enough about but haven't read anything terrible positive or negative

I was content with this draft, however I find it funny that most of y'all think that anyone who likes our draft is spot on and smart. But anyone who dislikes it is stupid.

The fact is, these little analysis of drafts are pointless because no one will know how they worked out until at least 2 or 3 years. Plus, how desperate does it make our fanbase look when we start digging deep for articles of people who like our draft. That's a dangerous road this fanbase is heading down. One similar to the Raiders, 49ers, Eagles and Saints

I was about to say the same thing.

This is how it's been around here:

Like the draft and believe Gettleman is an infallible genius = sensible, smart, grounded, wise

Dislike the draft and believe Gettleman might be making some mistakes = irrational, stupid, whiny

You people kill me. I don't even agree with everything this guy said. His analysis IMO is is like a consensus view, complete with a quote from G-man that kind of sums up why he drafted the way that he did, plus a list of the UDFAs to top it all off.

I still rate the draft a C+ overall, but I am more positive about the upside of some of the guys after listening to some of the analysis.

Gettleman is certainly neither infallible nor stupid, and anyone claiming he's either should get the stupid label. He's done well so far and I'm just hoping his moves continue to pan out well. I hope he ends up being coveted by every other team in the NFL.

Unlike a lot of people, I like the 6th round pick. I think Gaffney's versatile and his attitude and playing style will be a plus. I liked Barner too, but saw nothing encouraging last season when he did get on the field. Of the two I'd take Gaffney right now with no hesitation. IMO he's worth a spot on special teams alone.
