Corey "Philly' Brown + A look at our new WRs

The more I watch, the more I think Brown could really be a steal pick.  He's very quick and elusive.

I think Philly Brown will be this year's Lester/White, aka the FA pickup that develops into a legit player.  He seems like he was the "victim" of this incredibly deep WR class.  This year, so many teams went after the potential #1s, and one of the many guys that intangibles off the chart, while this guy flew under radar due to his average athleticism.   In a draft that wasn't that deep at WR, could easily see him being a 4th or 5th rounder.

Unfortunately editing isn't back, but I wanted to add with Avant and Prohel as mentors, this looks like a ideal candidate to become that third down slot nightmare, that can get open in the middle of the field and shake a nickel CB or LB lose to get the 3rd and 5th conversions.

Brown is making this team. The way he cuts is unreal. He does not slow down while cutting. 

 

If we carry 5 wide outs, it would be Benjamin, Cotchery, Avant, Underwood, Brown. King, McNutt, Bersin, Pilares, Lucas and who ever is left will be cut and some signed to the practice squad.

I like Brown to make this team as well. He has an opportunity where he can come in and learn from Avant and then take over as the slot receiver next year.

 

He's got skill, if he can get to 195 lbs. I think you would be looking at your prototypical NFL receiver.

 

If I had to guess, I'd go with...

 

WR1: Kelvin Benjamin, Tavarress King

WR 2: Jerricho Cotchery, Tiquan Underwood, Philly Brown

Slot: Jason Avant

 

The Underwood vs. Brown vs. McNutt vs. Bersin vs. King battle is going to be fun to watch in camp and in preseason.

I have learned from experience not to get too caught up over UDFA receivers,  Brown has speed obviously, but the only way I see him being "Mr. YAC" is if he is in open space.  There is a reason he wasn't drafted, and it isn't all about this deep draft class.  But, perhaps he will live up to his nickname.  

 

Marcus Lucas looks so stiff on the few videos that there are that the ceiling for him this year is the practice squad.

Don't arrest me for saying this but IMO this could be the Marqise Lee everyone was cheering for us to draft. He's fast...very...fast. Plus it looks like the boy can catch! Imagine if he turns out to be a beast, or even just a solid WR(which he could,other UDFA's have before). We would've gotten a great pick in getting KB plus we got the fast WR everyone wanted. I'm just sayin folks...BASED OFF OF THESE HIGHLIGHTS...we need to give this kid a chance. I know I sure want to :-)

I wouldn't really call it being optimistic or positive thinking. I would say it's pretty normal to give someone a look. I'm talking about brown by the way...not Lucas. Concerning brown you were talking about how he's just  another UDFA. Which he is just another UDFA. But if that's the only reason you're not going to give him a look then c'mon mannn lol
